2 tonight. Been averaging 2-3 a night since Memorial Day. 3 if I'm doing the Field Roast glizzies, 2 if I'm doing the Beyond. I've eaten 2 4-packs of Beyond and 3 sixers of the Field Roast. I like 'em with grilled onions and yellow mustard on grilled buns, with dill pickles and plain potato chippies on the side.

A decent level of spice but not a lot of heat unless you get the hot ones. Kind of have an Eyetalian sausage flavor to them like fennel and sage. They have a nice snap to them if you cook them properly. I've found that the key with the veggie dogs is to fry the everloving hell out of them on high heat in a covered pan with just a little oil. Keep rolling them around in the pan so they're evenly cooked and you're good to go. They end up with the most realistic casing that way IMO. |
