holy fuck, spectral voice were incredible last night.
not often you see a band play a set in complete darkness, enshrouded in smoke. top notch vibe.
the only thing i could see was the reflection of a neon miller high life logo bouncing off the bass drum.

saw septicflesh and decapitated last night, and while it was really fun, holy shit are those septicflesh dudes a fucking spectacle lol. like, they take themselves soo seriously it's kinda goofy. they had the biggest fucking drumset, and it was just sat there in the middle of the stage, covered in a black drape during the other bands sets. then when it was their turn to take the stage, they put up this comically big backdrop with their logo as well as these gigantic gawdy stage pieces that took up the whole stage damn near. are they a big deal overseas or something? i mean musically it's pretty coool but fuck, they just seem like the biggest divas ever.
decapitated were p sick. super locked in, and the light show/smoke was also pretty ridonkulous lol.

I saw Septicflesh once like 15 years ago and while they did change into this weird almost like xenomorph body armor, they didn’t have any crazy props or even a backdrop and they were all wearing track suits and gold chains before and after their set. I think they’re a lot bigger in Europe?

Listened to the new gatecreeper before work, and I think it rocks. This whole melodeath angle is pretty cool, ngl. Some of it reminds me of some 00s century media shit, in a good way.

The early albums that had more of a Paradise Lost - Gothic mixed with Rotting Christ’s Mediterranean vibes instead of the British gloom thing going on so if that piques your interest you might dig it but I don’t think anyone who posts in this thread is their target audience.

I was actually going to mention this, I listened to it at work the other day front to back and that song I was hating on makes way more sense in the context of the album.

First three Septic Flesh records are fantastic. If you haven't heard their first one "Mystic Places Of Dawn" then you are missing out. Not sure what the fuck happened to them after they put out these albums.

Their name makes me think they are a cool goregrind band but they are the complete opposite. That band stinks. I have no interest in that corny symphonic death metal.

I just got around to checking out the last Perilaxe Occlusion. I really dig it, I saw that they disbanded after this album which is a shame, not many bands can nail Technical Death Metal with Death Doom

No that label sucks and they charge and arm and a leg for releases. Nothing to do with gatekeeping

Cool demo, going for a Finndeath sound if you couldnt tell from the artwork. Pretty similar sonically to that Death Possession demo I posted on the last page but not quite as good imo.
