I'm just cracking up that the Dems are actually trying this shit because you know they are going to find a way to fuck this up in front of everyone without actually getting anything to stick on Donald. This right here. Im pretty nervous about it all. The dems will fall flat on their face and trump will come out stronger than before winning 2020. Makes me really think pelosi is actually on a different side sometimes. I hope im wrong.

I’m going to lose my mind from the amount of people who don’t know the difference between impeachment and conviction. This is why Trump will beat impeachment and also be a two termer

He still has to be convicted The tone I got from “This is why trump will beat...” implies republicans are more informed than Dems. They’re not. And being a defeatist about Trump being re-elected is what got him elected in the first place. Don’t be that guy.

Real talk. There aren't really any "moderates" anymore. If you're Anti there's really nothing that's going to change that stance in the next 14 months. There were Trump voters who have definitely Trumpgret and dropped support or changed tunes over the last 56 months and all this will do over time is keep bleeding that number by a tiny bit to sway outcomes (Granted if they're not outright rigged since there are hardly any security measure happening atm.). The biggest concern is actually making that 52% of nonvoters here care and to make sure hardly any Anti's stay home come next November. R's got stomped last midterm (I looked at the Governor seats swing/change in state legislatures as the largest indicator). Just got to stay not completely fucking hopeless.

I feel like the "Trump wins a second term for sure" argument is largely based on the idea of the incumbent advantage, which to my understanding is more of a congressional phenomenon than a presidential one. Trump has 40% of the electorate baked in, they're not going anywhere, but realistically it will come down to the same stupid states as usual because we have an electoral system desighned by people with wooden teeth and 40 buttons on each of their waistcoats.

His approval rating in MI, IA, MN and WI is abysmal. I don't think he gets those states again.

I was initially against impeachment because I didn’t want to give the others any more fuel and encourage a second term. I’ve gradually come to realize that everything is fucked anyway, so might as well do the righteous thing and proceed.

We've beat this into the ground, but: it's more to do with the DNC probably trodding out some barely electable moderate that does nothing for your "I vote against Democrats" style Republican, and does nothing to engage the young or non white voting bases that decided to stay home in 2016. Yes, guilty of over simplifying the situation like I just complained about but it's hard not to feel a little deflated given the fact that people decided not to vote, or not to place a meaningful vote against an actual dumpster fire of a human being that we all knew would spiral this country a little further down the toilet.

Yeah there’s more than one factor as to why he got elected, but ultimately Bernie supporters voting trump or not voting at all because they were defeatists about HRC stealing the nomination is pretty much what secured him the election.

BUt I agree. Oversimplification is getting us nowhere. If there was a simple answer to any of the issues we’d have it.

I'm sure he knew he's recorded constantly. I'm just shocked they didn't try to lie. I'm also a little surprised that he was on Twitter this morning talking about how the Democrats would be apologizing.

Not trying to be snarky: What about this idiot's use of twitter makes this surprising? His "handlers" are non existent and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes on a damning rant via social media that gets deleted after it's screenshotted 50 millino times.

Trump's ‘transcript’ of Ukraine call unlikely to be verbatimWASHINGTON (Reuters) - Details from a phone call made by Donald Trump that has led the U.S. House of Representatives to launch a formal impeachment inquiry against the president isn’t likely to come from a recording or be verbatim, former White House and national security officials say. “Typically a note-taker will write notes about what the principal says in a fashion that does not embarrass their principal,” said Farkas. A former White House senior official concurred there was unlikely to be a recording. www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-whistleblower-transcript/trumps-transcript-of-ukraine-call-unlikely-to-be-verbatim-idUSKBN1W935S
