Im headed to Spain July 13 and onto France and Titaly over the course of two weeks. Going to be a long trip but I am excited. I will be in Barcelona and around from the 19th-end of July, holler if you're around for a BIL fiesta/siesta

Yeah it's really only to get accustomed back to GMT +8 and to wind down. Both pops and I have been to Hong Kong numerous times so we're just looking to chill in Kowloon and head to the Stanley Markets. take the foil boat to macau and hit up a legal brothel B-) Brother sex work is legal in Australia

a few years ago my one buddy who works remotely spent 3 months at some villa in Titaly he got from airbnb for like $700/month. anyone who can do this, should no they shouldnt. Shit like this has ruined the (majority) of Europe's housing markets and most major European cities have popular movements against tourism at an uncontrolled level. Stay home. Villas in Titaly seem like they would be in a different category than like, an apartment in Bilbao or something. But I get what you mean tho.

Isn't Naples an absolute shit hole? It’s Titaly my brother in Christ - other than like, lake como and whatever parts like that it’s not gonna be glamorous

Yeah, it really depends where you're going. A lot of more rural places in western Europe are in steep population declines. Locals can't live there bc there are no decent jobs, so foreigners are helping keep those communities viable if anything. If you're moving to a city and making it economically difficult for locals, that's probably irresponsible.
But also fuck Euros, I feel like I read somewhere they spent many centuries doing something similar to the rest of the world.

Still a cool city to explore and short drive to go over to Pompeii for the day.

Anyone been to chile? Might head down there early next year with my brother. He’s never been outside the US other than Scotland and Chile/Santiago seems like a pretty easy international trip for an amateur.

Anybody here been to Titaly a bit? Is two weeks enough? What are some must sees and must dont sees? Gonna go next summer Did a couple weeks there last year. It was enough time but we were moooooving that's for sure. We essentially did Rome-Florence-Cinque Terre-Venice, and then left for Greece. Rome was by far the most busy/overcrowded city with tourists I've ever seen. Seemed like Disneyland for adults when I was there. Venice was also incredibly busy. When we were in Florence we rented scooters and bombed around the Tuscany region a bunch. We wen't to a lot of smaller towns/villages when doing that. Cinque Terre was also nice, it was pretty busy during the day but we stayed in Vernazza and when the trains left around 430-5pm everyday the place got super quiet. Often it felt like I was the only one on the streets walking around.

go to namibia and hang with these dudes My wife and I were in Namibia years ago and did this. We mostly did the sandboarding but also the crazy carpet rides. My main tip if you're planning on going...pay the extra to either rent an ATV/buggy or go with a company that provides them to get you back up the dunes! We figured we didn't need to as we were young fit people and would just walk up and down. After doing it a couple times in the blazing heat we were done.

Thanks pal. Did you go peak season? I don't believe so, we were there at the end of September. The weather was still super nice but I imagine peak season would be more in the summer time? It was crazy busy, I feel like I've been to some busy cities like Tokyo, Shanghai, Mumbai, Paris, and this was easily the craziest tourist zoo I've seen.

Definitely hit up Valparaiso if you go--it's a short and cheap bus ride from SCL.

a few days late but if you need tips, lemme know. Worth it to go south to Alentejo and hit the beaches there. Otherwise, if youre going north, we know Braga and Porto very well.

Staying in a pretty nice AirBnB while stopping in Brussels for a few days before Ghent but the location is kinda sketchy from all research but I can't tell if it's just Europeans being scared of Muslims or if it's legit a nightmare at night. The AirBnB is like 3 blocks from the Midi Station. I planned on just walking to the station as needed but some nights I probably won't be back to the AirBnB till late at night. Anyone got a better understanding of the area?

Anyone got a better understanding of the area? I walked all through that area late at night when I was there a few years ago. The vibe is weird there with the groups of armed military that patrol, but I never felt unsafe. Some friends of mine bought drugs there though haha.
