It’s basically the same now, just a lot more pornography, schizoid political theorizing (Marxist archive fetishists, nazis, your unemployed older brother, amoral grifters), and general dysfunction, all of which is gradually escalating. Seeing some of the absolute dumbest takes ever take off because the algorithm and content moderation are fucked up has been fun. It was never a particularly good source of information unless you curated the fuck out of your feed.

It is not REMOTELY the same. - The only people with blue checks are Elon fanboys, which are the absolute worst kind of people imaginable. - The first replies listed on any popular tweet are from blue checks, and every one of their comments is worthless. - Bots are several orders of magnitude worse than at any time before Elon. - The app is RIDDLED with the same kind of ads boomers get while watching their daily four hours of afternoon Fox News content. - Since the only blue checks are musk weirdos, you have to look much closer at a tweet from any news source because it might be @thewashingtonp0st now and thus not reporting actual news. - Content moderation doesn’t exist now so the app is flush with actual Nazis and other such filth that used to be unable to use the app. I could keep going. |

It's insanely annoying how any tweets in reply to something remotely populate can be 100-200 tweets down from the initial tweet because of spam/ads tweeting in reply something totally irrelevant.
