Portillos are super hit or miss, at least in my experience. The one in Buena Park, CA of all places was exceptionally good

Made some spicy mustard and hot honey glazed hot dogs on pretzel buns for dinner. topped with more mustard, chopped pepperoncini, dill relish, and crispy fried onions ππ

Is it weird that a steamed hot dog from Stewarts hits harder than any other? I dunno. On the one hand I get it because that's how they all were for the longest time. On the other, now that most of the shops have rollers, I don't know that I can go back. My one Stewart's stop Friday was at a shop that had steamers, and I just couldn't do it. I've become a snob. |

specifically got tix for an upcoming baseball game because it is $1 hot dog night.
however, i read the fine print and you can only buy 4 per transaction.
might bring my own mustards, maybe a chili cheese option too.

Today I ate a fat Texas redhot slathered in ballpark mustard and Carolina Gold barbecue sauce and couched in a brioche roll.
I may not sugg quite as many as I did last summer, but I shall be seeking out thicker and more exotic sausages this season.

Brioche rolls are huge. I'll use potato rolls for a BBQ or something but when I'm alone with my dogs, always brioche.
