I'm pretty sure Karebear was ousted from the scene for something unrelated, I've seen that Ian dude from Heavy Chains at a bunch of shows and no one cares, and from what I remember he was the one that actually beat that kid up and Karebear just stood watch. Sub Scum did get soft cancelled for it but I think the fact that they came back at all but without Karebear is indicative of something else behind the scenes. Its not like Austin (the guy who replaced him) is any less likely to jump someone to the point of brain damage.

Also I always thought Sub Scum was insanely mid and anyone defending them back when all this shit wen't down was corny as hell and anyone currently trying to hype Sub Scum as anything other than a mid hc band is off their rocker.

I give that kid a lot of credit for keeping his mouth shut when A LOT of people would not have. Got paid from the gofundme, his mom’s insurance covered his bills, he bought a car, paid off his girl’s student loans, and bought an IKEA home set, and he has no permanent damage. Not a bad deal.

I've heard chinese whispers of the kid spending a bag on vintage HC tees with gofundme money but honestly he deserves it for having to go through a traumatic brain injury and having to do all that rehab which entailed relearning how to walk and speak. Idc what caused/lead up to it. It seems like he took advantage of a shitty situation and moved on from it.
