I felt like B&C were better when they stood out as a weird heavy emo/"slowcore" band among all that Tigers Jaw and faster Title Fight stuff. Things We Think We're Missing seemed peak. I haven't gone back and listened to that in a while, it'll probably sound/feel kinda dated, but I remember the songs being great. I don't think I've been able to make it through an album since that. In 2015, when they toured w/Circa Survive, I fractured my foot while blacked out and crowd-surfing to get to the front of the stage lol. I have a gross pic that does in fact show ankles. That Wicca Springs type thing he did is inexcusable, holy fuck. TWTWM and Separation both hold up really well for me personally. I seem to appreciate both more with each listen after pausing on them for long stretches. I’m a big fan of their signature riff style and tone, so maybe that’s a big part of it. Their “comeback” show at Knockdown Center a year or two back was so fucking good, man. |

Cold Cave is putting out a new thing next week, but most of the songs are out already. It seems okay. I thought their last EP was actually pretty good, but I wish he would just shoot for the moon again like he did with Cherish The Light Years. I think Anthony from Ceremony is with him full-time now and he seems to have a good handle on this type of stuff. |
