to cover 500m a year, they would need about 21.7 million subs.
im assuming ari emanuel told them if they ponied up for raw they would get some deals / access to his clientele at WME. no other reason why this deal should be happening. least of all for a decade.

That’s such a weird take considering if he does sign he’ll be NXT bound, then locked behind a Netflix paywall.
Considering who they have been signing and WWE’s move to streaming actually being beneficial for their TV negotiations, they’ll be just fine just like they have been after losing Cody, Punk, Jade, etc etc

I also think it’s fucking stupid if they’re sending him directly to NXT while pushing 40 years old. Dude is gonna blow out something major before he even gets a main roster run.

Straight to NXT is real stupid. They should do a big debut match Mania weekend and call him up by Summerslam.

Apparently AEW ticket sales have been in “WCW 2000” territory. They’re not getting big walk ups like they had been all fall.
Tony Kahn definitely not fit to run a Target.

I don’t trust a source that has this as their bio “ English-language Japanese wrestling source | On-scene magazine coverage | Stakeholders in Japan, America & the UK | o-count run by staff”

the way i heard cornette explain it is they want to give him time to get used to tv cues in a relatively "safe" environment that is nxt rather than throwing him out on to smackdown / raw immediately since the way tv is filmed for wwe is light years different than how it was filmed in njpw or even tna. honestly that explains why all the njpw guys started in nxt.

I feel like even one year in NXT (which I think is around the time Nakamura was in there for) would still take a lot of the luster off of Okada.

The ratings and demo are damn fine especially when WB keeps throwing out press releases touting the numbers, and extremely happy in the demo. Now that RAW is moving to Netflix, WBD probably gonna get a bunch more advertisers who won’t follow along to a streaming only platform.
Revolution is over 15k sold with them opening up more sections, and All In still doing great numbers this far out.
They got rid of the guy who was booking them these monster venues for TV shows and are supposed to start focusing on 3-5k seat venues again which is a much better move.
Idk, it’s hilarious to me that “AEW is dead” has been preached since they first started. Fucking TNA is still around even Corgan’s garbage NWA still exists.

Imagine this was still back when NXT was just bill demott making dudes blow themselves up doing drills and injuring themselves. Okada just exploding ACL’s doing drills with some football player.

23 bucks?!
I had Netflix as a perk with my T-Mobile bill, it was like 8 bucks for the 4k plan. They said the perk was gonna go up to 14 so I canceled it out right. 23 fucking dollars for a streaming service is insane.

They're gonna pull another "Dream Match" scenario where we maybe get him vs AJ, Balor or Nakamura in the most watered down way possible.

Cole: You know Wade this Okada fellow has traveled all over the world, I’m told he likes to “make it rain” as the kids say these days.
Wade: Clearly he was tired of the lack of competition in The Orient

So at a minimum they're netting 2.5b in five years for Raw which is almost as much as their deals with Fox for Smackdown (1b), USA for Raw (1.3b), and Peacock for their entire library (1b) COMBINED.
Fucking insane.
