Don’t know if the rest of the shows will be the same, but that one flew by. Hardly any down time in between sets which ruled.

(I wish they played the anti-cimex cover.)

Awesome time tonight. Sound was pretty weird and I feel like last night’s vibe was more my speed at this point in life (looked like more singing along from front to back than moshing, but not mad about it. Insane energy up there).
It’s so fucking good to have this band back. I’m jaded as hell, but Hope Con is one I’ll always drop anything for. Very cheesy and sentimental, yeah, but they’re important to me.
Shit rocked. Anyone else catching these shows, enjoy it.

I never got to see them during the original run so this was really special to see. All the records mean something different to me so it was cool to see them play a bit of everything. There was so much energy and I was lucky to get a spot right near Neeraj. Between Hope Con and Suicide File, I’ve always had an affinity for his guitar playing and to see him riff up close was a treat. I wish I was seeing them again tomorrow.

The Brooklyn set was tight, glad Hope Con is back. Wasn't feeling the openers though.

Marathon song lengths seemed unnecessary as hell too

Still coming down from Friday.
Life has been a shitty roller coaster lately AND I just got injured at work, but being able to plan a trip around seeing one of my favorite bands after yeaaaaaaars and meeting up with friends for the occasion fuckin rocked. My buddy and I always said we’d travel anywhere if they played again and it actually happened.
Stoked for everyone here who also had a good time at the gigs.
Band rules. New album rules.

Thought Staticlone sounded cool, crowd was definitely not awake at that point. Scarab ripped, my first time hearing them. Big meaty breakdown riffs. I hit the pen hard enough to enjoy the fuck out of Umbra Vitae mostly, but by the last 2 or 3 songs it kinda felt like it overstayed its welcome. Too many different parts in the songs imo, felt like some of the songs would have gone harder if they just simplified some of the song writing. I know people talk about Sean Martin, but hearing a lot of those Gunface/Red Chord grooves had me locked the fuck in. Felt like the drummer was doing too much tho lmao. Solid, don’t really fuck with it too much on record but was cool to see live.
And man, fucking Hope Con. Wasn’t sure I’d ever see those songs live, so to finally see them after listening for such a long time was just life affirming. New songs sounded great, hate that they had to cut the set down a little bit, but whatever. Re aggravating my knee at the show was the final piece in the elder millennial puzzle. Glad they came back.

Ok I can finally give my thoughts on the Church show last night!
First, I want to say it was nice to see and meet the fellas which included Ryan (concealer), Erik, theboobox, and Carl Carlson. Good group of dudes!
I would also like to thank Bob Wilson and Joe Hardcore for making this show happen!
The first band of the night was Staticlone. It was weird seeing George from Blacklisted on a guitar but I thought they started out the show pretty well. Granted there was no reaction at all from the crowd but I was vibing with the tunes. Scarab came on next and things got much more active on the floor! This is my 3rd time seeing Scarab and I admire their brutal heaviness. I know what I'm going to get when I see this band and that is lots of hard hitting breakdowns. If you still are sleeping on them I advise you to wake up! While I appreciate and love Jacob Bannon, Umbra Vitae wen't on a little too long for my liking. I felt like all the songs just kinda sounded the same after awhile but I can say they have a super talented guitarist. That guy can really shred that's for sure. Kudos to him!
Hope Con were INCREDIBLE! Did I mention Hope Con were incredible? Well they were. I am lucky enough to have seen Hope Conspiracy at the Church in 2008 and I have been waiting 16 years for their return. When some bands do these returns I feel like they can't recapture the moment way back when but that wasn't the case for Hope Con. The new songs sounded impeccable and I feel they still have plenty left to give us if they choose to do so! Also, they played Truth and Purpose and good Lord I saw grown men come out of mosh retirement for that one! However, because I value my dashing good looks I decided to stand on the side and head bang accordingly. Shortly after there was a scuffle and a mini fight because well hostility. Hopefully those barbarians took their business outside! With that said, I wen't up front to sing along during "They Know Not" and the singer Kevin promptly gave me the mic to sing said GUILTY part. I felt very, very happy and I thank him for that.
Now that I think of it the worst part was when the set ended and there were no more songs played because I was having such a fun time and then it just ended. I wish they had some more time to play because it wen't too quickly.
Thank you Hope Conspiracy for continuing to be an inspiring band.

Never got to catch them even though they were one of the first active hardcore bands I got attached to in 2002, so last night rocked. Listened to the whole discography today.
