I think Roman is making a power play to get on Roy's good side. Tbh its not the worst strategy if his end goal is getting the reigns of the company. I just don't understand Kendall's end goal here. Sure, he gets back at Roy, but Roy still comes out on top while Kendall's net worth gets obliterated. That karaoke scene was kinda sad, especially when they brought up Roy beating Roman when he was a kid and Roy neglecting Connor all his life.

Oh it’s definitely personal but also a scorched-earth move for both sides. No one wins. Even the short term satisfaction he may gain from fucking Logan would soon be overshadowed by the complete abandonment from both sibs. I wonder what Roman’s angle here is, can’t be as simply as they’re portraying it Kendall has big time nihilistic tendencies, so he's not even thinking about how Shiv and Roman will react, I also don't think he cares. He wants to make his dad hit rock bottom and I'm not sure he cares how he achieves it. As far as Roman, I really think he just wants a pat on the head and told that he's a good boy. He'll follow anyone that gives it to him. Logan's done exactly that like once a season and it works every time.

The only endgame I'm really uncertain of is Shiv's. She's always acting in her own self interest and trying to work multiple angles at once. I honestly have no idea where she ends up at the end of the series.

What I've enjoyed the most with the show from the start is that I haven't theorized or thought ahead much at all. It's been a pleasant change of pace compared to most shows.

I thought last night's episode was a *great* Connor episode. I don't feel bad for anyone on this show, but I came close to it with him.

Only watched first episode of Season 2 of Yellowjackets. Feels so convoluted, over the top and crammed in everything into one episode.
Been enjoying Succession though.

Succession A story feels really disjointed, the B stories are funny but pointless. Hoping the later episodes tighten up.

I honestly have no idea where she ends up at the end of the series. Shiv always thinks she's the smartest person in the room but she runs on emotion just as much as anyone else, if not more. She's never actually succeeded on any of her grand schemes if Im recalling correctly.

Also really weird that Mattson wen't from being this like very OPULENT dude wearing linen fits chillin in Switzerland and just being really articulate FOUNDER to coarse dude drinking root beer in a lazy boy in a wife beater.

Second episode gets pretty wild. But yeah, I’m not sure where they’re gonna go with it. And the fact that they already announced 5 seasons makes expectations a lil bleak. I dunno how they’re gonna make it 5 seasons. I just want answers.

He said he couldn't sleep, and if he was still in Europe it was probably like 2 or 3 in the morning there.

Succession A story feels really disjointed This. Feels like the writers are so up their own asses with business/M&A jargon that the story gets lost and confusing. The family drama suffers as a result.

One of my favorite things about Succession is how the blend the business drama with the family drama. They do the business side of things way better than almost any show I can think of, even Billions. 🤷🏻♂️ different strokes for different folks.

I actually made the comment during the last episode that I have absolutely ZERO clue what they are talking about when they are talking about business which seems to be like 90% of the dialogue now

I mean I'm following along with the business stuff ok, it's just all of it feels from out of nowhere.
1) the Pierce deal was DEAD and the only reason it was even happening was so Logan could get out of the bear hug that Sandi / Stewy / Ken created. This felt really rushed. They introduced Pierce coming back to the table with "oh Tom had a drink with Naomi and Nan feels anxious" OH OK.
2) the minute GoJo was going to acquire Waystar, it more or less ended any and all conversations about Sandi / Stewy / bearhugs / Pierce / blah so Logan trying to acquire Pierce in S4 felt really redundant
3) the Sandi / Stewy arc about blowing up the deal with GoJo / Mattson that they just introduced. Mind you, the kids just offered 10 billion dollars in a binding verbal agreement with Pierce / Nan. They have to have 10 billion dollars to pay her. Even if they're 1000% certain they can wring a little more money out of Mattson, they're not going to risk blowing it all up and being in breach to prove it. I imagine the writers are trying to show how desperate the kids are to stick it to their dad that they're going against their own self-interest.
4) *theory* the arc probably looks like this: the kids are using Sandi / Stewy to intentionally blow up the deal so that Logan has no lifeboat and they can try to force him out (again) and they can try one last time to take Waystar. Even if all of that is objectively true, it still makes the Pierce arc incredibly redundant. Not bad writing, just super disjointed.

Everyone should watch Lodge 49 imo. It combines all my favorites, gnostic myth, big Lebowski, shady underbelly conspiracies, warring powers, alchemy, pals, secret societies, and if you choose to interpret it this way, the healing light and magic inside the island in L O S T. I choose to believe it's in the same universe as L O S T. Great show. Lodge 49 is a top 10 all time show. Everything about it is so endearing and even has Bruce Campbell!

One of the best shows ever, this sounds incredibly pretentious but whatever, the show is a vibe in and of itself. I understand why they couldn't market it worth a damn.
