any of the good will/understanding i may have for pissed off diablo fans instantly evaporates every time someone signs that petition. I would love to see a new game from blizzard, but they're going to milk WoW and Diablo for every penny they can.

creating a diablo mobile game is horribly tone deaf on behalf of blizzard. that game and lore is incredibly dark, and they are making something that will realistically be played by slimy fingered children in the backs of SUVs. even as an adult, how could you comfortably play that game in public considering the level of violence it contains? the 3rd act of D2 ends in the middle of a literal genocide. one of the most used subclasses of a playable character revolves around exploding corpses.
thinking about it this morning, it could be a major step forward for mobile gaming for a studio like blizzard to publish a major release. this could really elevate the platform and create something new. however, the stink of bubble popping games for toddlers and connect three puzzles for depressed housewives and pay to win and shitty teenage trolls from brazil hangs heavy. also, how is this different than a shittier version of what we already have? how will the game interact with the unique characteristics of mobile devices that will make it stand out? do you have to go to real world locations for high level dungeon encounters? can you team up or PvP with people next to you? if they can put something like that into the mix, i will be interested.
