spotify listeners is a bad metric to go off of. lil baby has tens of millions of monthly listeners and had to cancel his tour because most of the arenas were empty. large production rap shows are on a downward spiral because nobody wants to pay modern day ticket prices to watch someone who could care less jump around to recordings of their songs. even Drake cancelled both nashville shows and memphis, presumably due to poor sales. |

rap live is absolutely terrible 9/10. Most of them just vaguely rap along with a track that has the studio vocals on it or have like 4 guys n stage with them yelling the lyrics. Its not great

Travis scoot floors were going for like 10 bucks at the last minute. A lot of that was because scalpers overestimated the amount of people trying to see him post-astroworld fest but still, pretty damning year for big rap tours.

i watched the Lil Baby coachella stream and it was total dogshit, but i find him extraordinarily boring to begin with so....
and yes all rap shows are ass. theres been like 2 in my lifetime that i would describe as "not ass"

My favorite rap show ever was definitely Run The Jewels. I saw them last summer and good Lord the crowd was HYPED. That was quite the experience because both rappers were incredible and the crowd was lively!!

Young Thug 2015 was prolly the last great rap show I've been to. I'll attend like 3-4 rap shows a year and they're mostly just rappers kinda rapping over vocal tracks and 6 dudes on stage trying to do crowd work. Travis scoot pre-astroworld has some cool set designs, but the sound was ass.

Honestly one of the best shows Iβve ever been to was a Hawthorne heights show that both the band and venue didnβt advertise properly lol
It was like no joke me and 10-15 other people.
I wen't alone, had a ton of beers and had the best time lol (my bf refuses to go to shows like this LMAO)

I saw him twice one summer, exact same show but one was bonnaroo and the other was atlanta on the damn. tour. You can probably guess which show was better. |
