Theoretically getting behind Scotland in the tournament in deference to my grandma but they're a hard team to like. I'm in a similar position in that I'd like to see them do well, but they're a bit much. |

Just the low standard of play, no issue with the fans or anything. I get it, it's a small country, but they're pretty dull.

i vividly remember in advanced world history in high school we watched Braveheart either right before or after standardized testing as a gesture of the teacher giving us a break. Eventually during that one part, he stood up and blocked the visible titty from the classroom, to a chorus of boos, replying "cry about it you have the internet to look at other boobs"

Edinburgh is pretty and I was well-inclined towards Scots since I have family from there, but when I wen't I was detained at the airport, the weather sucked, the food sucked, the cities were boring and some fat drunk said racial shit to my friend then hid from a fight. I did go to a Scotland game and the fans are cool, but sorry Sid. |

Just watched R. Ireland get absolutely smoked by Portugal in a friendly. Very frustrating to see a team with players like Caoimhin Kelleher, Adam Idah and Will Smallbone just so rudderless. We've been in such a protracted downturn for what feels like 15 years. Tbf it seemed like you lot were going in the right direction with Stephen Kenny. Creating a distinctive possession style game and using players from LOI seemed like what the supporters want and was the way to go, but he maybe wasn't the right guy to implement it. It's wild how they're still trying to find a replacement though. Feels like everytime I check Balls.ie they're linked to someone new and it goes nowhere. Can't imagine how John O'Shea feels about this all too. |

Feels like it'll be a chalk year so I'm going with France and Argentina.
Wouldn't be shocked if Spain or Croatia won the Euros though. Their group is stacked and will test them both early. Spain also have a good mix of youth and experience, meanwhile Croatia is having their last run at a tournament with Modric and the likes.

The problem with Kenny was that for all the good aspects of trying to cultivate LOI players as national squad leaders, he just could not get results, motivate players or develop a serious attacking strategy. I was big into the Kenny project but it clearly just hasn't worked out. It all stems, of course, from deeper systemic problems about how the game is cultivated at a community level in Ireland, and how pathetic the level of investment in our national sporting infrastructure is. |

Haven’t seen enough to predict the Copa but Saes are gonna win the Euros. We got to a semi with Chrissy Coleman and probably would have made the final if Rambo wasn’t suspended. In before ‘but Southgate blah blah blah’.

France should win it with the depth of their squad and number of individual match winners. The bookies have England as favourites which is crazy to me, the squad is so unbalanced
