Offside should be both feet or something. Beyond that I really don't see how it's a meaningful advantage to the attacker.

I’ve said it for ages but a review system for VAR is the only way to make it work, give each team a VAR review per half or two reviews per game or whatever. Other than that, the ref and linos are in charge. Obviously the rules need changing as well to allow some leniency and common sense cos these stupid handball decisions are ruining the game

Also maybe I’m just noticing it cos I’m English but the English officials have been the worst for obsessive VAR use in the tournament so far

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using the technology to enforce offside calls. The general rule is necessary and there’s always going to be a minute cutoff point of whether something is or isn’t offside. I think they could make the rule simpler, but there will always be knife edge decisions and it’s at least one of the very few non-subjective rules of the game. People will be pissed either way you slice an offside ruling, so at least just stick to a rule that’s easy to understand and let the technology enforce it.
