I need someone to study what Chelsea is doing, because nobody has given a good explanation of what their long term strategy is with spending all this money. It's pretty simple, they want to change Chelsea from being the club who always buys the biggest name to now getting them before they become big and develop them. I guess they think if they buy all these guys young they can get them on cheaper wages and then sell them off in a few years for profit if they want, which is so fucking foolish. Like I'm not joking around when I say they'll be relegated in a few years. Just some stupid yanks who thought they could game the system without understanding the structures of a football club. |

I mean City have dominated the league at a relatively low net transfer spend doing something similar on a smaller scale. If that's what Boehly is trying fair enough but if it doesn't work it's going to blow up completely.

I think my big concern is that you can take risks on buying up and coming players if you have a settled team in a settled system like Pep’s got. Not sure it works when you buy an entire team of unproven players and try to develop them all at the same time with a rotating door of managers.

I also don’t understand because they aren’t even picking up these players on the cheap, so maybe a couple become superstars. That doesn’t really offset the cost of any duds or just decent players.

Yeah if you want to develop you need stability, and they've got none of that. It seemed like Poch was the guy too, but no sensible manager wants to deal with a 40+ man squad and everything that comes with it. Clearing house on the scouts and directors is looking really bad in hindsight too. There's no rhyme or reason to their transfers in relation to the squad itself(like who the fuck needs 8 GK), whereas Chelsea before would mostly buy up their needs and then a few youth players to loan to Vitesse or whoever. |

I'm excited to see what Savio can do considering how well he did at Girona. Rumor is they might bring over Echeverri after River Plate finish their season. Dude looks really good at a young age. Bobb getting a fractured leg sucks cause he was setting up to have a breakout season and a major role rotating with Savio.

I still don’t really understand it but I hope that board brothers and sisters get to enjoy some real football EFL going to CBS in the US. 250 matches on CBS platform, article I found said espn+ deal was for “more than 210 matches” so it’s gone up a bit in volume. I guess this means I don’t need ESPN+ this year. Peacock and paramount plus then I have my MILs YouTube tv o-count. Should be cheaper to watch the shid I wanna watch. |

We’re looking to take my boys team and due to playing Saturday mornings and work, traditional kickoff is the only real option. We have the option of 3 games between now and the 20th December. I’m intrigued to see how season ticket renewals go for next season. Most kids interested in football play Saturdays. They’ve more or less made it impossible for them to follow a team regularly. |
