If Sterling has anything left in the tank it's a good move. Trossard will get you goals but he's slow, whereas Martinelli still hasn't reached that next level everyone thought he would be. Man City era Sterling had everything they need.
Still don't get why they didn't sign a striker though.

I thought Wolves did some good business too. I kinda thought they were relegation candidates but Ramsdale is a really good signing for them and Andre is interesting too, iirc Liverpool were after him before.

Not cashing out on Broja and Chalobah in a permanent PURE PROFIT sale sucks.
Selling Lukaku finally is great but they created a new Lukaku in Sterling. High wages and now forever on loan. No one is ever taking on those wages.
Couldn’t cash in on Kepa and resighned him so he doesn’t leave on a free? Kicking the can down the road hoping they can get a fee for him.
Selling Gallagher just to replace him with Dewsberry Hall who hasn’t looked impressive. 👎
Neto and Felix usurping Mudryk for Prem starts is good. Mudryk can battle it out with the Kazakhstan squads in the conference league. Hopefully he doesn’t get abducted by Wagner Group.

Sterling is fine for any team that has players that know how to finish because that’s always been his only major weakness, problem was everyone else at Chelsea during his time there were also deathly allergic to putting the ball in the back of the net.

If Bruno was going to be sold this summer it wouldve be for about 100. Caicedo just wen't for 115. Rodri was bought 5 years ago and at his release clause of 63 so comparing his sale to others is not the same. You could make the same argument about any forward in the world and saying it’s an overpay because haaland was bought at his release clause of 60. Liverpool were in for rice for pretty much the same amount as Arsenal if I’m remembering. Was pretty much in line with the market. |

I guess so because this seems very simple.
Saying that Rice is an overpay because Rodri (a player that had only one season at Atletico and I’m sure no one in this thread rated that highly before the transfer and turned into the best dm in the world in pep’s system) had his release clause triggered 5 years ago for 60 mil is such a sports talk show call in take.
