We deserve Shadows of the Empire. Anyone interested in indulging their Star Wars nostalgia without subjecting themselves to the indignity of the new franchises should pick up a copy of the Dark Horse comic. It's seriously awesome.

I gotta get my hands on this. Dark Empire and the Thrawn Triology were two of my favorite Dark Horse comics take on the 90’s EU novels. I have them both in hardback.

Really liked episode 5. Laughed alot once it was over, y'know, reading this thread people in general really dig The Mandolorian (me too) and have been sorta "Meh" on Bookaboba (eh, I like it I think).
So they were like "Fuck it, for episode five let's give the people what they want, we won't even have Boba's old ass in it" lmao.

Great episode. Great piece of Star Wars content overall. The only complaint is that this was another Mandalorian episode.

Great episode. Great piece of Star Wars content overall. The only complaint is that this was another Mandalorian episode. That's a complaint? I'll agree that's a complaint because Mando should have just been the Boba show. Have him escape from the Sarlacc pit and get back into bounty hunting in a post-empire world and he gets swept up into the Baby Yoda story. Making them 2 different characters was dumb because 1)they look the same 2) Mando is more in line with how Boba should be at this point in the timeline anyway. These shows take place right after ROTJ, when Boba was supposed to be in the prime of his bad-ass bounty hunting days. Whyy is he an old man? 3) it would solve the stupid problem of Boba, the character always associated with the helmet, now never wearing it because Mando is more associated with it. Basically it could have been 1 great show about 1 great character, but disney needs that content so now we have 2 shows so similar we just have 1 bleed into the other interchangeably

Fans will love this characterization of Luke, but to me this shit is so dry. Him forcing Grogu to choose between attachment and "the way of the Jedi," acting like he didn't save the galaxy choosing attachment to his friends and father as a pathway to the Jedi way. The whole point of the prequel Jedi was that their dogma of "no attachment" was not a good thing, and led directly to Darth Vader. Like, come on dawg

So the first four episodes just looked cheap and were bad so they had the budget for this episode’s CGI and cast, right?

I’ve enjoyed the show for what it is. This episode rocked because CB like Top 5 SW antagonists. I hope they are able to wrap up his story with the Kenobi series.
While there isn’t a bunch of action or cohesive story telling I’m enjoying the world building and how they’re fleshing out the lore. It’s also great to see certain characters in live action like Black Krrsantan and Ashoka.
Robert Rodriguez is great but I feel like every time he directs an episode it feels more like Spy Kids rather than Desperado. I wish he would just go full blown spaghetti western and do some Once Upon A Time in Mexico shit but in space.

The part where Luke front flipped out a big dumb smile on my face. Mark Hamill is goated and Luke Skywalker will always be the #1 Jedi don’t even try to argue with me about it.

The whole point of the prequel Jedi was that their dogma of "no attachment" was not a good thing, and led directly to Darth Vader. Like, come on dawg
I’ve been thinking about this.
I’m not exactly sure that’s what Luke is doing. He wasn’t trained in the same rigid Jedi institution that Anakin, Obi-wan, and Ashoka were. Luke wasn’t trained until much later and his attachment to his father, while mainly abstract or emotional rather than personal becomes a turning point for him between ESB and RotJ. It seemed to fuel his motives in RotJ, Luke wen't to save his father not kill the Emperor. This attachment is reciprocated by Anakin’s redemption. In fact, you could argue that the Force fueled and strengthens that connection.
Maybe we’re seeing a thematic arch here connecting the rigid dogma of the Old Republic Jedi to the much more fluid and “balanced” Grey Jedi/Force users that The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker seemed to toy with. “Balance” has always been a central theme of the Light/Darkside conflict. It goes from a prophecy misinterpreted by the Jedi, perhaps blinded by their dogmatic faith, to the central theme in Luke’s How to Live As A Jedi manifesto. The scene where Luke carried Grogu to the top of the bamboo forest and points out the balance of nature may underline this. Perhaps this is also why Ashoka chose not to train Grogu, apart from her experiences in the Clone Wars. Further to the point, Din makes note of the stark differences between Jedi and Mandolorian creeds. The Armorer is a keeper of lore, also bound by a strict code of ethics that made the Jedi and Mandolorians enemies. Her knowledge of the Jedi would obviously be based upon the Old Republic beliefs. Grogu occupies a liminal space between these two seemingly diametrically opposed sides as was Tarre Vizsla to whom the Dark Saber belonged too. He also bridges the time between the Old Republic and the New in time.
Luke may want Grogu to return to Din and his comment about Grogu’s lifespan wasn’t just a “You’ll outlive him,” but “You will have a lot of time to learn/remember how to use the Force.” Eschewing his attachment to Din in return for access to Jedi training, and this power, could be Luke’s warning of tipping into the abyss of the Darkside. Yes, Luke wants students, but as Ashoka pointed out, choice is a mighty powerful thing.
Just some thoughts. Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk.

Aside from the obvious reasons why the last 2 episodes made the series better, I like how it’s feeling more like a mafia vibe. “The Syndicate”, the bar being blown up. Hopefully Bobbas hot wheels bikers get whacked

I knew what was about to happen when those guys left that thing that exploded in the bar. R.I.P. that milf.

I thought the Hutts gave that it to Boba as a trap, then the Rancor was going to try and eat him or something. Then it just disappeared. Fucking weird ass show.
