On a related note, the new Emma Ruth Rundle album is also great.

I don't know if they rank among my favorite albums of the year, but all I have been listening to for the past two weeks are the new Low record, the new Daughters record and the new Robyn record.
Tis the season, baby.

The boygenius record is awesome, their harmonizing is unreal.
I totally forgot Sun Kil Moon released a new record. I remember the Caldo Verde site saying it would be a free download, but I'm having a hell of a time finding that

Did people already talk about the Flasher LP that came out earlier this year? I'm just listening to it now and it is sooooo good. Highly melodic post punk from members of Priests. flasherdc.bandcamp.com/album/constant-image

This thread rules. Found a lot of stuff I missed out on. Is anyone listening to that Ben Pirani record? Also, didn’t see much mention of Kacey Musgraves or Lykke Li. Anyone enjoy those?

Cult Leader album is really good, but having two pairs of back to back slower songs kills the momentum a tad. Minor con though
Also love the new Kurt Vile, and just found out he’s coming through on tour soon

I saw that. My copy is from Bandcamp though so I think I got the right sequence

Been a casual fan of Daughters, but this new album is ridiculously good.
Conversely, the new Sun Kil Moon is terrible

In terms of heavy stuff, the latest Sumac record from a month or so ago has been getting a few spins

If Mark actually wrote songs over older Jesu style tracks, that easily would've been one of my fav records. But I don't always get what I want I guess

I hated the new Sun Kil Moon on first listen but Ive gone back a couple times and there are a few redeeming tracks. Overall it's a little too jazzy and weird. And I like his output from the last 5 or so years in general
