I've been watching a lot of late 80s early 90s trash wrestling.
watched a 89 nashville promotion that didnt last long called IWA. they got a couple actual wrestlers to show up but it was just bad wrestling.
just started a 90s promotion from MI/OH one called Motor City Wrestling. In their first live tv episode the heels came out with aluminum bats and the one guy broke the top rope accidentally before by hitting the post with the bat.
An in shapeish Violent J is there as some military gimmick.

That’s the truth, Hunter might be the most sensitive dude in the biz ever. Meltzer called him a “B+ Player” on an internet radio show that literally a couple hundred people listened to in 1999 and decades later it still lived rent free in his brain SO MUCH they made a wrestlemania main event storyline around it. He’ll have Cody wearing polka dots and then try to restructure his contract.

I don’t think they meant that way, instead more of Cody jumping shit into a situation that is definitely about to fuck him. He was red hot in AEW as a babyface who everyone hated. It wasn't heel heat either it was legitimate fucking hatred, the realest of the real. He had the opportunity to take all that hate and turn it into being one of the biggest bad guys this business has ever seen. But instead he chose to jump ship and take a chance because he's a selfish asshole at the end of the day and will never get over the fact that he will never be able to capture the hearts of wrestling fans the way his father did No other wrestler in history has screwed themselves worse than Cody Rhodes |
