There is literally nothing they could have done with this that would have been better. Poorly conceived angle from the jump but at least it's over, MizJF can go away and get labrum surgery and Joe can smack around geeks like Jay White for a few months

there is no cap in my raps when i say that was the actual worst pile of shit ive ever watched. everything sucked. nothing was good. cool opener tag then just garbage. everything was so outta sync i can't believe they sent that julia chick and that freak out to wrestle that late in the card?? like neither of those chicks know how to wrestle and tha tisnt me being rude its just you can tell how green they are man you cannot present this kinda trash on yr ppv. i guess the eddie match was the best? maybe the hardcore match just because? i really dont know. it sucked. joe rules. all time guy.

Everyone is desperate for AEW to succeed but itβs been piss poor for years at this point. yeah idk. i think a combination of like injuries to the best indie talent (kenny, adam cole), their homegrown talent not really panning out (darby was handcuffed to sting almost the entire time and is now taking a sabbatical to climb mount everest, jack perry is a waiter, mjf is the miz, and sammy guevara is a bust), and WBD leaning on tony / aew to use ex wwe guys (the bad kind, like edge) killed the company. i dont think theres a way to fix this. they cant recapture that spark. |

That all in show at Wembley was misleading as hell. It was their first show in UK / EUROPE after four years of being a company and the UK fans are ravenous for pro wrestling. Thereβs no way they do 1/2 that number when they go back.
Grand slam in 2021 was (at the time) the highest attended wrestling show that wasnβt wwe / wcw since like 1986. Grand slam in 2023 was half that.
Their heat is totally gone.

Hangman reign was really one of those "less than the sum of its parts" type deals because when I look at those title matches most of them were pretty good! Both Dragon matches were great! I loved that Lance Archer death match! I even dug the Punk match which I know not everyone was hot on. Maybe it was that 3 months of a boring ass Adam Cole feud or something but yeah I can't say I really dug it looking back. |
