i cant believe i finally got to see that man. ive had such a shit last 3-4 years as i'm sure we all have but man seeing this dude struggle has been so intertwined in how i always viewed myself. good but not good enough. in relationships, friendships, in my own family to my big brother and the whole way theres been this dude i watch wrestle whos always came close but never got quite there and i finally got to see him get there. i hate being so personal around you guys but this shit really means so much to me and i'm glad even if we all never meet that i have someplace like this to still give a shit about this stuff. to still care about wrestling and to be around to see that run because even if he it fizzles out tomorrow the run hes been on since starting LIJ is truly all time stuff. the connection to the crowd, the people, the matches hes just the fucking best man i love naito

Fuck yeah dude. It's one of the best things in wrestling, you like ride with these dudes and follow their ups and downs for years and you get emotionally invested in their journeys and identify with them and get inspired by them. Like Mick Foley means so much to me cos as a kid I wasn't very good at making friends and was a bit of a weirdo and seeing him be a weirdo dude who made it to the top made me feel less shit about myself. It's something hard to explain to people that aren't into it and that's a lot of why I kinda handwave and shrug off wrestling when talking to people who don't get it. But yeah like the moments when they come together, there's like nothing better. Go Naito!

Thought Mox vs Ospreay vs Finlay and Danielson vs Okada both ruled - show ended at the exact time I normally leave for work. Perfect timing.

if iβm seeing some positive talk about wrestle kingdom on this thread. then thatβs enough for me to grab a torrent with the japanese commentary after work. especially after being so loose on following since 2020 and hearing about tsuji since he returned. LIJ all day.

Did anyone watch the Ibushi vs Marufuji match? Hearing itβs an all time stinker. I did - I feel like the trainwreck aspect of it is kind of overblown? It's just overly long and slow and boring. Some gnarly spots for sure but it's really the post match stuff that's just sad and hard to look at.

Iβm sure Iβm gonna get shit for this but the 3 way was my match or the night and I though Finlay killed it. Granted heβs in there with Will and Mox. I thought he shined. Loved the beating dude took. The double middle fingers was great. Fun WK. Nothing earth shattering, but pretty sick. I will be interesting to see whoβs dipping out. Tama Tonga announced at the presser heβs finishing up. ELP and Hikuβs contracts are up too.

I saw the crowd was 27000ish somewhere this morning, it felt like way more in the arena, particularly during the last 3 matches - not sure if that came through on the feed. When it looked like Sanada was going to win, the place got real tense real quick. No one was over like Naito with the crowd, not even Tana.
Also no one gave a fuck at all about David Finlay.

were people really into the Danielson/Okada match? I honestly thought it wasn't as good as the first one by a pretty wide margin. Okada just seemed like... sluggish and off. Meanwhile Danielson had great fire and I thought had a terrific match but Okada was just... kinda there? Even his dropkick was weak.

I think the fact that story wise Danielson cared a lot more did kind of work against it and result in different levels of intensity being brought by each dude so I defs get that criticism. It definitely wouldn't have been hurt if Okada was a lot more bitter about getting tapped out last time.

Riddle in NJPW. Tanahashi has had some real good grapple heavy matches lately so it'll probably be good. Wonder if its a one off for the US shows or if he is gonna be a NJPW regular for however long it takes for him to Matt Sydal himself.
