Half drunk from my pool league and had to force my uber to speed to make it on time but I feel confident in my picks tonight. thoughts?
QB: Jimmy G. RB: Leonard Fournette (2nd round) RB: Alex Collins WR: Julio Jones (1st Round) WR: Larry Fitzgerald TE: Greg Olsen Flex (W/R/TE): Lamar Miller
BN: Corey Davis BN: Rex Burkhead BN: Chris Carson BN: Peyton Barber BN: Keelan Cole BN: Tyler Lockett
DEF: Houston K: Jake Elliot
Admittedly, I have no backup QB or TE but I think I can find someone via trade/waivers.
Sober me might hate this in the morning lol

Very, very good starting lineup. Do noooooooot like the bench, with the exception of Corey Davis who I think sees a big benefit from the death of that exotic smashmouth horseshit Mike Mularkey saddled everyonwith.

Yeah I got shook on the burkhead pick and just hit draft. I think Keelan actually has some major upside (fucking bortles aside) and this is the last year I die on the Tyler Lockett hill lol. Gotta believe he finally gets over 600 yards... actually just pray for me.

I also drafted Cole, and I expect him to get a ton of looks now that Lee is done, and he wen't on a tear at the end of last season. And Peyton Barber isn’t gonna give you RB1 numbers, but he’ll likely like a workhorse (even if it’s for a shit team) which could be solid RB2 numbers; which is hard to complain about when you probably got him in the 7th round or later. And Lockett just sighned an extension and Baldwin admitted to being at 85%, and Graham is gone, so that all makes me think he’ll be getting more targets.

I'm in 3 leagues this year, but one literally drafts tonight because some people are shitbags and didn't let the commish know they wouldn't be coming back til literally a day before the draft. other two leagues' drafts wen't alright. i'm not super happy with how i drafted in one, but i can work with it. work league - 14 teams, 0.5 ppr: QB: Tom Brady, Dak Prescoot RB: Dalvin Cook, James White, Rashaad Penny WR: AJ Green, Demaryius Thomas, Jamison Crowder, Courtland Sutton, Pierre Garcon, Michael Gallup, Chris Godwin (drafted Martavis, RIP) TE: Delanie Walker K: Chris Boswell (drafted Bailey, RIPIP) DEF: Pittsburgh
Had the 13th pick, but I definitely made a few really bad missteps in this draft looking back on it. my RB situation is absolutely garbage outside of Cook, but I'm alright with my WRs. I'm kind of betting on Gallup to become a big target and Sutton seems like alright insurance for Demaryius and both were pretty late picks. Gonna have to hit the waiver wire hard, but shit is already pretty slim pickins. hoping someone on the bench breaks out to be trade bait for something more stable. friends league - 10 teams, PPR: QB: Breesus Christ RB: Alvin Kamara, Kenyan Drake, Dion Lewis, Chris Thompson WR: Keenan Allen, Adam Thielen, Golden Tate, Jamison Crowder, Will Fuller, Kenny Golladay, Michael Gallup TE: Trey Burton, Jordan Reed K: Robbie Gould (drafted Bailey here again, RIPIPIP) DEF: Baltimore
I'm a little happier with this draft, but praying that none of my main starters go down. there may be a couple decent people on the waiver wire that i can scoop up depending on how week 1 goes though. I'm nervous about my TE situation, but I'm hoping both of them start hot and I can dump one to a TE-needy team for something useful. more likely Reed since I don't know if he can stay healthy.

Too many of you are drafting back up qbs. The wire is full of backups use that bench spot on an rb or wr with breakout upside. Especially if you draft a an early like Brady or something when would you ever bench him anyway

Fucking 43 so you holding on to 1 guy isn’t doing jack shit to another’s team. It’s 2018 anyone can stream qb matchups off the wire. Use that spot to take an extra flyer on guys like Godwin, golladay Tre’Quan cole and Wilkins people in good offenses who could emerge instead of limiting your teams upside with a backup qb. Not fucking Mohamed sanu

Leveon Bell gunna sink me and it’s not even week 1 Damn, looks like his agent was wise to what the steelers were planning on doing this season, running him into the dirt with 400+ touches, and then not paying him the next year when he goes into free agency. Interested to see how this plays out. Any chance he just takes this season off before hitting free agency so he can stay healthy and get paid next year? Probably not, but holy shit so many people would be fucked if he did that. I already picked up Conner just in case, because if Bell is out, Conner will probably be putting up RB1 numbers in his absence.

Especially if you draft a an early like Brady or something when would you ever bench him anyway Yep. The only upside I could see would be trade value. Last year I had Alex Smith and Russell Wilson towards the end of the season and was able to trade him for Theilen, who was putting up top 10 numbers at the time. But yeah, at this point in the season, you really shouldn't have two QBs. In a hometown league I'm usually in, everyone drafts two QBs, which kinda makes finding a backup during bye week a PITA.

2nd qb is an arms race. And it starts with people that have wen'tz, watson, luck and probably rodgers and big bellend. In a 12 team league, that's already more than half of the nfl starters at a position you're going to depend on. Not having to waiver and pray for Andy Dalton or Bort every week is probably worth more in peace of mind than a lotto rb/wr.

It’s more understandable if you want to wait and pick 2 later dudes like Mariota and carr or something to cover yourself if one of them sucks but there will always always be guys on the wire with good matchups in 1 qb unless you are in the b9 32 team league. Hell even this week dalton is in most people’s top 12. Pound rb and wr and then live the stream

I am all for a piece of mind high end QB2 on my bench rather than reaching for a bang or bust RB3. Not shit like Bortles or other streamers, but guys that could end up as fringe QB1s like Jimmy G so that if your top 5 QB goes down, there isn't a significant hit to your team. If you intended on starting Aaron Rodgers every week, and he goes down, streaming Dalton or Mariota or anything else is just stressful shit every week.

Man, I hope the Steelers trade Bell. Who would go for it? The raiders? They have a solid line and he would do well there, but it seems like they are past trying to be contenders this season, so I doubt they'll wanna pay him or trade picks they just got. Who has cap space, and a need at RB, and could be contenders in the next few years? 49ers? Texans?

Maybe, they could certainly upgrade at RB, and they have the cap space. But why was all that cap space/draft capital for a guy who will probably be heading towards the end of his career, certainly the end of his prime, by the time they are contenders? Unless people think they can be contenders with the addition of Bell. I don't. But then again, they play in arguably the worst division in the league.

So, hypothetically, if Bell is traded, how does it impact his fantasy value? Obviously it depends on the team, but it drops a ton no matter what.
