I don't drink or do drugs - but I used it. I don't eat animals or animal products - but I used to. I don't play the blame game - but I used to. I don't ignore my daily meditation (chanting) - but I used to. I don't skip work-outs - but I used to. I don't flake on my writing - but I used to. There are a lot of things I used to do which put me in a bad place. It was only when i decided to change because I wanted more out of life that I changed my daily habits. And little by little life improved. If a negative lifestyle and mindset took years to achieve - it's gonna take time to fix. Real change requires patience and discipline - doing positive things especially when we don't want to. This was a rainy day before Ironman Florida last month - had a four hour ride on the schedule. Got it done in the garage and wen't on to finish my 14th Ironman at 61 years of age. Anyone can do it. You just have to want it. Don't settle for shoulda', woulda', coulda'. I live in a state that had some of the most severe covid restrictions in the country, and I can't remember the last time I've read/heard anything covid related in the news or in casual conversation. The only reminders I have at this point are this thread and Remain Sedate posts, feels pretty great to let it go honestly.
