So I worked at Shop Shogun in 2015 and the Cro-Mags were one of our biggest clients. We dealt directly with John. So one day me and my boss drive to New York to pay out royalties from like the month or whatever for sales. We go to John’s stoop in east village and my boss and him are shooting the shit about this or that. I’m standing there smoking a cigarette minding my own business not saying anything. John then starts to feign a cough and looks at me and goes “I GET MIGRAINES” and I look at him and I hold up my cigarette to see if that’s what he’s getting at and he just kinda nods so I take like a couple steps back so I’m a solid 8-10 ft away from him and then he goes again “MIGRAINES” so my boss looks at me and it’s kind of like “sorry” and I just toss the cigarette down and put it out.

I have hated him ever since.

One more story…

So Cro-Mags played New Britain in summer 2015. We were printing some shirts for the show and I was asked to deliver them to the show because I lived in New Britain. Told my bosses I didn’t want to stay for the show cause I was tired so I wanted to drop the shirts and go home. They told me totally fine the Cro-Mags have a merch guy. I’m like ok. They showed up two hours late (cause they left late and NYC to CT on a Friday turns a 2 hour drive into 3-4 hours). Finally they show up and it’s now like 8pm. John walks in and drops a duffel bag on the table and goes “there’s 123 shirts, 72 limited edition LPs, and 15 copies of my book. Thank you” and walks off. I’m like “this motherfucker thought I’m the merch guy.” So I’m just like standing post cause officially I haven’t even delivered these fucking shirts yet. Finally my bosses and Mackie walk up to the bar and I go up to them and I’m like “YO IM GETTING RELIEVED RIGHT?” And they were shocked I was still there. My bosses explained to Mackie what I was told and Mackie said he’d take care of it so he goes to find John and they get their merch guy to do their merch. John then walks up to me as I’m talking to my bosses and goes “hey I told our merch guy you had to go home so could you like hide or he’ll be bummed about having to work” and then he saunters off. Mackie just goes “fuck that, you’re drinking with me” and Mackie bought me a vodka soda.

Mackie is great. John is the worst.
