There are no good band names left. Most new bands since 2010 have few options. I take that into consideration with bad ones. I mean, some are inexcusable but still.
Bands that use a word 15 bands have had but add a redundant letter, or the name is the same word twice are more egregious than most other original attempts.

Test Icicles
This exchange made me laugh: Interviewer: what's the deal with the name of your band? Band: in Sweden, there is a practice of men testing icicles' strength. It's a real coming of age thing. Interviewer: what was the previous name of the band? Band: Balls.

I thought I was so cool having ‘for screening purposes only’ on my iPod the day after it was released. I didn’t think I ever needed, or wanted, to listen to sharks again but here we are.

I couldn't name one song of there's, but that band name and that exchange is forever etched in my brain. Glad that they were in on the joke.

Like the international superheroes of hardcore. Or maybe they weren’t. My 15 year old brain was not developed enough to know and I’m not about to start looking into it now. yikes

Carl Sagan's Skate Shoes.
They used to play local shows like every week near me, but I never gave them a chance because of the goofy name. Turns out they're pretty kick-ass and I should've gone to see 'em.

Bands that use a word 15 bands have had but add a redundant letter, or the name is the same word twice are more egregious than most other original attempts. Agoraphobic Nosebleed rolls nice phonetically On the subject of bad types of band names, I'll add: - the contrived clever punning refererence (e.g., the Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Dandy Warhols, the aforementioned Baader Brains); - the one-word ultra-political, ultra-boring crust punk band names circa 2000—they don't fit a particular pattern, but you'll know one when you see one. Most bands of this ilk are European (e.g., Operation, Contravene, Praxis); - the extremely overt hardcore reference. This, too, was an early 2000s problem, but in this case largely in the United States (e.g., What Happens Next?, Life's Halt; major exception: Seein' Red); - most, although not all, bands named after people. I'm not even going to list examples, for their numbers are legion. Please stop doing this. Edit: Also, most British indie rock bands in the Eighties had really dumb college-rock bullshit names. Kitchens of Distinction, Inspiral Carpets, the Blue Aeroplanes, the Weather Prophets—I could go on quite awhile. But most of those bands are actually good.

Not "Fuck's Sake". "Fuck Sake". It's funnier when you realize they're Euros.

Twodeadsluts Onegoodfuck (best name) Wow forgot about this band, takes me back to 2002/3 when all those spastic grindy-esque bands had hard-rocking names.
