I need to see First Reformed I thought Unsane was super good. Probably the most memorable thriller in a while. Unsane is in my top 3 or 4 of the year so far. So tense. Great theater experience. Cant beat that these days.

When board wen't down this was one of the first threads I thought of. Glad we’re back.
Finally watched The Graduate — incredible. So torn on whether I’d want the elder or younger Robinson.

and wowzers, We Are The Flesh looks nutso! We Are the Flesh is one of the weird/grossest things I've seen. It's completely bizarre but has its own thing going. I appreciate it.

My wallet is not ready for the Criterion sale.
I still need to buy Kagemusha and Dreams to finally have all of the Kurosawa blu's.
Bull Durham is out on 7/10 so I'll probably just wait for that.

Sale ends of August 6th, still enough time for waiting.
I plan on buying Dead Man, Female Trouble, and Mishima

Paths of Glory is so good.
Been wanting Wings of Desire as well. I love Wenders but I still don't have a physical copy of it.

The only Kurosawa I’ve seen is Seven Samurai. Aside from that one, what’re a couple musts from him?

I don't think you can go wrong with any of his films.
If you're wanting to watch something that's not samurai related, High and Low is probably the best option. It's basically two films in one stylistically but it's done so well.
For samurai stuff, you can't go wrong with Yojimbo (and Sanjuro.) We wouldn't have A Fistful of Dollars if it wasn't for Yojimbo, and both movies are fun as hell. Rashomon is one of my favorites, and I'd put it right up there with his best. Throne of Blood is his rendition of Macbeth and I can't recommend it enough. The Hidden Fortress is pretty good, and was a huge inspiration for Star Wars so it's worth watching for that alone.
I could recommend any of his films for various reasons so I'll cut myself short. For an idea of just how prolific his work is, check this out: akirakurosawa.info/remakes-and-films-influenced-by-kurosawa/

This theater near me that shows a bunch of Asian films is playing this and it looks insane. It's a Chinese action movie, an adaptation from a popular comic book. Michael Douglas is in it too.

Thanks, Strangelove! Picked up High And Low.
Might go back in a week or so and grab Ikiru and Rashomon as well
