Where You Want to Be is their best and only consistent album from front to back. I didnβt get into it until tw9 years ago, after which I did a deep dive into their entire catalogue. Tell All Your Friends is pretty decent. Louder Now has some huge songs and completely awful production (seriously, even pull up Spotify and listen a song on any of their albums, then switch it to Louder Now). New Again is half great, half utterly skippable. S/T is mostly just okay background noise. Happiness Is... is a slightly better S/T with cooler songwriting and studio magic. Tidal Wave is their second best album.

People have sworn I'm missing about but idgaf I don't believe em Itβs not like theyβre some unbelievable band, and youβre doing yourself a great disservice in not poring over everything, but WYWTB is easily better I think. Where You Want to Be Tidal Wave Louder Now/Tell All Your Friends/New Again Happiness Is S/T

Tell All Your Friends approach to dual, interwoven vocals is really something neat though. That aspect is a little less dynamic on Where You Want to Be, and then not particularly pronounced on any of the follow up albums.

I always loved the way they did the vocals on TAYF and thought it was a shame that they did less of that as time wen't on.

I'm not even that old and I'm not trying to be a dick but does this kind of mall bullshit actually mean anything to anyone these days? This shit doesn't hold up.

Where You Want to Be Tidal Wave Louder Now/Tell All Your Friends/New Again Happiness Is S/T This is pretty much what I'd rate their albums, but switch TAYF and Tidal Wave. There's some damn good songs on the later albums, they're just not as consistent. I've seen them live twice in the last 5 years and it was highly enjoyable both times. Would see again.

Listening to Tidal Wave meow. You Canβt Look Back, Fences, and Iβll Find a Way to Make it What You Want are just all around great songs, without many βsceneβ characteristics to speak of. Just a pretty cool album all around, with some nice Tom Petty influence.

i somehow didnβt realize how horny the lyrics on this album were until returning to it as an adult, lol. musically it totally holds up tho imo, like somebody else said i think the dual vocal stuff really makes it. i really like some songs on wywb also but it definitely doesnβt hold together as well overall for me
