For anyone who hasn’t done it, go to a ski resort in the summer, rent a downhill bike and go bomb down some mountains. Easily some of the most fun you can have on a bike. Wish I lived somewhere where I could do it all the time/justify the cost of a downhill bike.
I haven’t been able to ride a bike in any capacity besides slowly to the store in almost 6 months due to injury. Wack

Downhill mountainbiking scares the hell out of me, looks like utter insanity.

I was going to say the same thing. There are some crappy East Coast ski mountains near me that offer this. I'd be interested in trying, but I would totally start out a snail's pace.
There are some trails near me with some decent descents, but I'm squeezing the brakes with a death grip the whole way down.

I squeezed the breaks on some wicked soft dirt the other day whipping down the power lines and almost died so I just rode it out and felt way safer lol

Just googled some downhill mountain biking. How is this guy talking through this course like it's nothing?

The trails are marked for difficulty like ski slopes, you can work your way into it. 8” of suspension, huge sticky tires and big brakes put those bikes on another level if you’re used to hardtails. There will be many times when you think you’re going to hit something and die, and you just glide over it. It’s also a great way to fuck yourself up, severely

Last few days are the most exciting Ineos have ridden in years. Loved Carapaz' exploits. I'm glad they let him just do his thing once Bernal threw in the towel.
One of the Belgians up front should've taken the win today though. Everybody (especially Van Avermaet) is always talking about chances and strategies but time and time again they let the crucial attack go unanswered. Waste of an opportunity. I hope all this saving of effort pays off at the world champs.

EF is cool in my book for all the wacky alternative racing they let Lachlan Morton do. Dude seems to living the life just doing whatever he wants. Three Peaks, Everesting, Dirty Kanza, whatever, go do it son.

Absolutely crazy. If only Pogacar didn’t put him a minute behind straight away, imagine a difference of say 20 seconds. Fucking Lemond/Fignon or Janssen/Van Springel scenarios for the ride to Paris.

I know it's not the safest thing to do, but what is everyone listening to on their rides?
I'll usually start with some punk or hardcore (Kill Your Idols, The Fight, Gulch, maybe Pillars of Ivory), and I'll switch it up halfway through to Drum'n'Bass to help carry me through the middle and end of the ride.

What's everyone's prediction for the men's worlds coming sunday? I hope my boy Van Aert takes the bands, we're sure bringing out a squad of heavy hitters in support. That said I can see Alaphilippe, Fuglsang or even Bettiol get in on the decisive breakaway and then it could be anybody.

Van Aert is in such ridiculous form and the parcours should suit him. I’d be surprised if it’s anyone other than who you mentioned to be honest.
Who you thinking for Giro? Providing he doesn’t suffer from his usual bad luck I’m struggling to see anyone but Thomas especially with three individual time trial stages.

I think Kruijswijk is going to be hell bent on making up for his lost Tour but then again, so will Ineos. Can't really see anybody else but those two really, wholeheartedly gunning for the GC. Fuglsang, Nibali and Viviana'll probably be good for a couple stage wins and I hope Campenaerts finally fucking wins another TT. That said, Giro is always weird and I'm bad at predictions for it.

In a post-race interview Van Aert said Alaphilippe made that final break on the big ring. Well deserved champion.

Chapeau Vansevenant. I doubt he would have done it going into the final climb of the Mur de Huy but couldn’t help but believe. What a classics debut.

I love it. I prefer things a bit more subtle usually but it’s one of the more interesting jerseys we’ve seen in years.

That pink/purple Rapha kit they usually wear had me fully on board but this just feels like it's another one of those ironically hideous-on-purpose things. Doing just that lavalamp of a pattern with the barrage of logo's might've had me convinced. The bikes look cool though.
Good on 'em for doing whatever the fuck they want, I guess. The TT Helmets are beyond crazy.

Oh Alaphilippe! There is so much cycling to watch over the next 34 days, the condensed season has been epic so far.

Here's to hoping Paris-Roubaix actually happens. In any case, the Giro's climbing up Etna today and we've got Brabantse Pijl coming up on wednesday. Good prospects all around.

Love how the UCI is busy fining EF for the new kits while this whole condensed season has been rife with unsafe racing conditions and major crashes.

I can't tell ya'll how painful it is to build up your bike over the last two years with no compromises made on the parts and finally achieving your peak riding experience only to wake up for your morning ride to a missing bike. Basically, everything on that bike is deadstock too so I can't just go buy another one.

A crying shame but understandable since France's Covid-numbers are beyond dramatic in the North. Ronde van Vlaanderen is going to be insane, EVERYONE is going to go balls out to win it. Even more so than a regular year. It'd be cool to see Sep Vanmarcke finally do it.

I picked up a mint condition 2019 Specialized Sirrus 2.0 with hydraulic disc brakes from an acquaintance on the low. I haven’t had a geared bike since my Colnago(R.I.P. best bike I’ve ever owned) and I don’t know much about how well Specialized bikes hold up over time, but so far I feel like I made a pretty good pick.
