I collected new balance for years and they’re still my favorite shoes. I sold a majority of my rare / valuable pairs to fund my cross country move years ago so I probably only have ~10 or so now but wish I woulda kept em giving the popularity spike recently
998s are my favorite and for me, the most comfortable

i got a pair of cordura new balances and they’re real nice. got ‘em on deep clearance at DSW ooh I almost grabbed a sick pair of green 997s from DSW a few weeks ago. I've had these for a few years now and love em: yeah these are the same ones i got there for like $25 but they’re navy and bright yellow

I had a pair of the Codura 997s but they were way to narrow so I wrote off NB. Glad I tried to give it a second go. Dang Swayze got them wide feet. I wouldn't call any of my NBs narrow, certainly not my 992s

I have frustrating feet. normal if not slightly narrow heel, higher volume instep and broad toes. very good walking feet.

Leather forms to my stupid feet, insole secures the fit. New Balance are backed. My 57/40s are the only sneakers that are truly comfy. Everything else needs an insole or I can’t do em.

The New Balance talk in here brought me some decent luck at the thrift store today. I picked up a pair of these in decent shape for $7…

Just bought a pair of 990v2s on sale (even though they're orange, I'll figure it out). You people are bad influences.

I can’t find the hat thread but did anyone ever figure Japan league new eras?
What we hyping this week?
Im trying to get into the baggy cargo trend I dig it on Japanese dudes but I think I look stupid as all hell
I still need to get some casual shirts that aren’t just plain comfort color tshirts. Always looking for pant recommendations. Are there any straight fit medium weight I guess chino style pants, I really like duck cotton and slash pockets these days.

These aren't duck fabric but you can definitely find that if you look around: www.jcrew.com/p/mens/categories/clothing/pants-and-chinos/chino/wallace-amp-barnes-selvedge-officer-chino-pant/AZ698?color_name=faded-military-orange&colorProductCode=AZ698J Crew also has a "giant fit" chino right now, plus they're perpetually going in and out of sale so you can save a lot if you just wait a little bit. Stan Ray or Grammici might be cheaper options. You could also check out ebay or whatever for used Engineered Garments FA pants and fatigues and shit. It's gonna be expensive but probably a little easier to style for the japanese cargo pants thing. Their sizing is all over the place so definitely rely on measurements if you go that route.

Honestly, it's probably easiest to stick with the workwear stuff, given the popularity at the moment. I'm having a hard time feeling comfortable in anything slim these days -- it just seems so dated.
I did happen to get a pair of Naked & Famous 5-pocket duck canvas pants on Grailed. The fit is great, but I can't stand their pocket bags. They start to pill after 1 wash and I can't stand putting my hands in my pockets any longer.
I've heard good things about Wallace and Barnes, but then there's also the Bob Dong and Bronson stuff on eBay. I haven't tried it myself, but it's tempting considering the price point.

Ralph Lauren has some good silhouettes for pants. Their hiker pants have a nice baggy look. You could also checkout Bronson Mfg who seem to specialize in those wider fits. They have some duck canvas pants.

The main thing keeping me from straying from carhartt duck is no one else that I’ve found offers that 1% stretch which is so crucial for me. But I’ll check those brands maybe going up a size will help with mobility. That said I’ve been wearing dickie duck and double fronts hard as fuck to work and I honestly thing they’re better than most carhartt offerings at this point.

I'm pretty sure Dickes has some stretch in their duck canvas. I've been destroying a pair that I skate in and would be bummed if they stopped making them. The suggestions I mentioned definitely are not stretch. Check Grailed if you haven't -- they usually have a fair bit of Left Field.
