my Filson, stone islaned, and arc'teryx gear has held up just fine over the years, but I've had issues with cp company, norse projects, and patagonia gear so I generally don't buy from them. I moshed in my Arc twice and it ripped. How you going to ascend Everest if your gear can’t even handle the pit?

I spent a fuckton getting my 10+ Barbour patched up last summer and a few months later I had a bunch of new tears and holes to the point that it's embarrassing to wear. I'm between buying a new one or just continuing to pour money into it. Maybe both if I can swing it... I would definitely not purchase a brand new one, just get a lightly used one for like half the price and get a can of wax.

I just sold a grip of old band tees online, thinking about getting one of those light stone island windbreakers.

I dunno, I've got an Alpha SV that has seen some gnarly winter stuff, bushwacking to ice climbs, etc and it still looks pretty new.

Any solid military surplus sites y'all fuck with? Casatlantic does retro military inspired shit for a decent price for the quality. Dude that started the brand runs Broadway and Sons, which is a legendary vintage military shop in Sweden.

What filson shit do you have? I’ve eyed up a chore coat and a pair of double tin pants a few times. I can stomach the chore coat, but I don’t think I have enough use for the pants to justify the cost

so those soles on a lot of moc toe style boots, are those crepe or what? Pros/cons vs a traditional tread?

so those soles on a lot of moc toe style boots, are those crepe or what? Pros/cons vs a traditional tread? They are soft and wear down fast. If you’re willing to get them resoled that isn’t a problem. The sole being flat distributes your weight out, so they are good for comfort. I’m not a huge fan of the look but they are comfortable. .

so those soles on a lot of moc toe style boots, are those crepe or what? Pros/cons vs a traditional tread? I have them on a pair of whites I use for work, I have to get them resoled at least once a year. I’m not particularly a huge fan, I don’t think they provide the support I need and after about a month they basically have no thread left. If you’re just wearing them casually then it’s probably no problem. Look into whites c350 which gives you a modified 55 last and a wedge sole. I can go on and on about PNW boots and lasts.

Idk if it’s actually a crepe sole tbh that’s just always what I called them. Or wedge sole.
