Chemical Fix is so sick, ordered a shirt that never came and they were so nice and sent me another one ... apparently. I didn't get that one either, but I still like 'em. They are playing here tomorrow with Jivebomb! Saw them back in February and they were good. Complete AN worship but good!

Damn, you all are right about this Concealed Blade promo. I didn’t even really care much for their LP either—might have to revisit that. Between this and the Illiterates LP Pittsburgh is really on top of hardcore in 2023. Just need some new Loose Nukes.

Are you implying there’s a correct way to perceive the world? Yes, it is a phenomenological prerequisite for any formal epistemic inquiry about true states of affairs.

Why do you think the human brain can correctly perceive the true state of affairs? Many people are saying there’s no evolutionary reason for our perception to be accurate. It just needs to be useful.

I question the existence of the “numerous young people” Chalie claims to be corresponding with I don't know it's totally within the realm of possibility that dude just hangs out outside of high schools

Why do you think the human brain can correctly perceive the true state of affairs? Many people are saying there’s no evolutionary reason for our perception to be accurate. It just needs to be useful. 1.) The sociological o-count / phenomenological description of truth is completely sufficient in almost all cases: To describe something as true is simply to claim that other epistemic agents ought to concur with your claim. That’s proven good enough to both (1) generate chains of inference that extend very far into the past beyond any one epistemic agent’s capacity and (2) justify a belief in the furtherance of chains of inference. 2.) “It’s true that all biological organisms systematically misperceive the world.” How do you evaluate the truth of that statement without automatically conceding that there are contestable claims about the actual state of affairs?

yknow what i think all the big flatspot and triple b bands are cool. i think we're all old enough to think music videos that look good are red flags but i think that shits cheap now and its not like they're going on mtv or whatever. a lil hardcore/death metal show on a tuesday night in little rock almost pulled 100 people last night and that rocks. was it full of push moshers in slipknot shirts and baby punks? sure. but who cares. they showed up, paid their $12, bought merch, and wen't off. when i started going to shows here, it wouldn't be unusual to have the same 20 people or less. if turnstile being on the radio between godsmack and linkin park is responsible for it, then whatever idgaf. i can finally dive on people with ease. ive waited almost 20 years for this
and do you know how many hot girls are at shows now?? tons! this is good, and if it took hd scowl and turnstile videos and maggot stomp bands to get here then whatever i'm here for it
hardcore rocks in 2023 👍

Aw, I like reading about metaphysics or whatever the hell you guys are talking about. Can't say I KNOW what the hell you're talking about, but I like reading it!
let me just say that regardless of what is the "true state of affairs" or what isn't, and if the brain can 100% accurately perceive it or not: It's a false dichotomy. Regardless of if you perceive things a little differently than others, we still all participate in some kind of common experience. Therefore, we should all work to make our various perspectives understood, and to understand as many perspectives of others as we can.

Yeah but that common experience is filtered through social conditioning and ideology. I think to get to the bottom of this we need Chalie to explain what ideology he subscribes to. I’m betting he’s an epicurean.

But also, those of us who know what's really up should really still be critical of corporatism amidst our ranks. When I first started coming around, the old heads who took me under their wings would be like 'hey don't listen to trash talk, listen to crossed out' (or something - idk not a specific example). I never really felt judged for listening to entry level bands - but I always appreciated when someone showed me something cooler.

is push moshing just slam dancing? kickboxing and "randomly" punching audience members is moshing in the current vernacular, right?

I’m betting he’s an epicurean. Man, are we talking about ideology or mind-independent reality (as in the natural world)? Cuz those are separate but related debates. Conceptually unaided pointing signifies nothing: You need SOME sort of model and that is a thoroughly social process (you can’t bootstrap a lifeworld). Moreover, you know whose living in a world devoid of social conditioning and ideology? Feral children lol FUCK man you’re baiting me so well GOD DAMN IT

More crawling around on all fours in the pit. one of the moves we invented at my first punk house was whenever anyone fell over, to just run at them at full speed so that the mass of bodies that were either toppled over underneath him or were trying to help him up would take out your legs and then you'd have all your homies do the same thing.
I love gettin drunk and doin stupid shit in the pit. moshers shouldn't take themselves seriously!

My friend used to do this thing where he’d goosestep across the room while punching himself in the forehead. Truly innovative.
