Haven't seen the barbie movie. I don't plan on it until it's on streamers, but I thought Sean/everyone might get a kick out of this. This chick has an OF, is a self proclaimed hippie empath, posted not long ago that she was trying to hold the title of "sluttiest girl at the farmers market" and found barbie very empowering, so maybe Sean is wrong. A woman can be whatever she wants guys. And also, virtue signaling and big corps and stuff.  she makes a good point: i've been holding Barbie's sexuality against her, but maybe Barbie isn't inherently at fault. in fact, i think i've been putting entirely too much blame on this doll.

Pippin’s essays and his book on Hegel’s Practical Philosophy, which is very good. And some McDowell, if he counts. Haven’t read a ton of Brandom. Fun fact: Paul Churchland jokes about a “secret admiration of GWF Hegel” or something like that in his Scientific Realism & Plasticity of Mind (it’s a must read tbh) We could do a reading group. That would be fun. I’m very behind on reading these days! |
