Barbie was originally modeled after a gag gift sex doll that was sold in German smoke shops back in like the 40's. The more you know right? It's apparently a well made movie with the intent of pushing Barbie summer beach house with helipad to small children much like Star Wars is now just to pump out toys to small children and nerds. I don't know what the big deal is. From anyone's perspective. One of my friends saw an article saying that Barbie was a musical and it turned her off from seeing it. I had to clarify that it is NOT a musical and that there is only one musical number at the film's climax. She was pleasantly surprised and thought the movie was sick.
