first 4 danzig records are heavy metal in its purist form. i don't know what i would do without them and i don't respect anyone that doesn't like them. same goes for the misfits really checked out danzig as a kid since i liked the misfits and realized i needed to be a little older for it to click then in my 20's i revisited his albums and it felt like i won the lottery |

danzig 1-3 are some of my favorite albums EVER. 4 is great too but I usually just listen to the first 3. Love Danzig's voice, but the songwriting and riffs are truly inspirational for me.

Famous monsters too but you're not supposed to say that I believe it got pretty good reviews as compared to American Psycho. I think it's objectively pretty good, but definitely a much different vibe from the original run. pre Walk Among Us OG run Misfits is some of the best '77 punk with someone who can actually sing on vocals, it's sick. Earth AD/Wolfsblood is also often overlooked when people talk about early HC records too, but very little else from that era goes as hard imo. Very much ahead of its time. |

OG Misfits albums are up there with Minor Threat for being flawless stretch of releases.
They're the one band that could actually do the horror-punk thing. Everyone else honks. Imagine creating a genre that only you could play, no one else. And not even just the band, but the literal original members of the band could play it. It's worth giving it a shot.
I will say, I never got into the Danzig metal albums, but I'm hit or miss with metal.

Seeing them play the Earth A.D. stuff with Lombardo behind the kit was insane. Those songs sounded pulverizing.
