Three for three when it comes to the new singles. It's been a good long while since I've looked forward to a new album this much.

Some songs sound kinda samey down the middle but overall it's real good though. Starts off strong and then wraps up on the same note. Tennessee Special could've easily been the breakout single.

This thread fuck with Jamie Wyatt? Neon Cross is such a banger. The album as a whole is hit or miss but she's real good when she's good, couple singles on there that will be in my mixed playlists for a long ass time.

I'll give it another shot on your rec but Hard Times is the only song that stuck with me first run through.

Spin Tennessee Special and Poplar Tree a couple of times, I feel like if those don't start clicking none of 'em will. Cosign on the Jaime Wyatt record. It's decent overall but Hurt So Bad and Rattlesnake Girl are two perfect songs.

Croy from Croy & The Boys' other/previous band. Pretty cool tune.

Looks like Unknown Hinson took some bad PR advice and wen't off on Dolly for her recent comments, probably won't be associated with Squidbillies after this too.

He's basically Larry the Cable Guy with a guitar. I'm sure it wont be long before Jim Heath says something equally as stupid.

Die Midwestern might be the best alt-country/Americana record since Southeastern. Shame John Prine didn't get to see Arlo McKinley really start to take off because I think he might be the next big thing. Strongly recommended FFO songs about anxiety, depression, pills, giving up on life, not wanting to get out of bed because real life is garbage.

My taste when it comes to country is pretty securely in the classic or extremely corny honky tonk corner of the genre but I checked this out on your rec. I'm aware of Prine but he's never been my thing so maybe this is a dumb thing to say but it really reminds me of Isbell, which in my mind is a good thing because I usually have zero time for singer songwriter types but I love Jason Isbell. Only like 3 songs in so maybe this wont make sense sooner than later but regardless, I dig it thanks for the recommendation.

I'm glad you dig it, it really connected with me. Some of the lyrics are a punch in the gut if you're like me and grew up around pills and depressing midwestern hopelessness.
Here's some Prine honky tonk for the road.

Seconded. Yoakam is arguably my favorite at this point and those songs he did with Buck with the accordian rock so hard.

One of my favorite things is him introducing himself, the Buckaroos, the Buck Owens Ranch and the Buck Owens Show followed by "Now that's a lot a of Buck Owens".

there used to be a really amazing three part video series on youtube of a legendary luthier doing some heavy repair and restoration work on one of buck's red white + blue acoustics. the video was either deleted or made private since i last saw it. the guitar belonged to ryan adams, feel like that has something to do with it disappearing smh
