My favorite Marty Robbins song, and a refreshing take. It’ll be stuck in my head for days ha, kudos mang. The way you sing and enunciate almost reminds me vaguely of Scandinavian folk Thanks for the kind words. And, yeah, it’s a top three Marty song for me easily. Wrote and recorded a bunch of shit over the first eight months of the pandemic, stepped away to sit on all of it, now just coming back to it. Like some, hate some, I’ll see where any of it goes.

Not that it’s true slop, just Billy S slop, meaning he wasn’t as developed in his playing as he is now (but would still roast most players). I love when we can hear and see someone’s evolution. He’s just untucking real and makes me never want to even try at anything haha.

For whatever reason, I’ve just been on a Ryan Bingham tear with his first two records for the past couple weeks. I’m gonna blame Yellowstone. I’ve always enjoyed him, but like lately I’ve been weirdly obsessed.

Great records, but at the time heard a lot of people swear off Roadhouse Sun basically because the dude caught some attention with Crazy Heart

The only country record I’ve bothered listening to the last few years. I Saw this Charley Crockett fellow does a cover of “blackjack county chain”

Why Roadhouse sun? Junky Star crushes that album. Junky Star is great. I’ve just been listening mostly to Mescalito and Roadhouse Sun lately. It’s just the kick I’m on, I guess. Plus Snake Eyes is one of my favorites.

Ha didn’t mean to attack your choice, guess meant didn’t know that was the album associated with Crazy Heart. Mescalito rocks also, gotta love a Terry Allen guest spot.

Oh, man, I never took it as anything more than a curiosity. All good. And I agree about Mescalito and TA. I’m just a big Bingham fan in general.

He's really good live. Saw him with his backing band I'm blanking on the name of a few years back, they were terrific.

Wasn't Hawke talking about doing a Buck Owens biopic too or is my brain making that up?

I think he's doing it, but who knows. Guys got a lot of irons in the fire, and to do a Buck Owens movie properly won't have a big budget, so it's likely on hold due to COVID-19.

Double post.
Watching a Jimmy Carter doc on HBOmax now, not necessarily all country but a lot in it, do suggest watching.
