Forgot about this, what a trip. Reba > Vince Vaughn > Dwight Yoakam + cast of characters (like... Travis Barker)
Chris Hillman, Billy Gibbons and Dwight Yoakam. Damn. Not a fan of Brad Paisley but he is a great guitar player.

Try not to drink yourself to death listening to Lonely Christmas Call. "The kids are lonely here without you, even wrote old Santa about you. Please don't leave them all alone this Christmas day. Don't you miss their arms around you? Do their memories surround you? Don't you know it's not their fault things are this way?"

That Robert Earl Keen jam is a family favorite, play it loud every year. Post this probably every Christmas, not a Christmas song but has a winter vibe.
Oh ya, their is an awesome Drive By Truckers acoustic holiday get together that’s out there. It’s a bootleg but should be able to find, I can upload it from my computer if anyone is interested and can’t find it.

Between everything that came out this year, I still feel like Charley Crockett takes the AOTY for me. Childers' Long Violent History and Logan Ledger's s/t round out a top three.

Didn't go through the whole thread but just in case nobody brought him up yet here's a lil Tony Joe White, the ol' swamp fox. One of my favorites, a real oddball who specializes in a super dank and funky take on country soul.

As expected, Crockett's James Hand cover is solid. Video is real neat too

Luke Bell dropped a new/old song apparently. A step away from the album but I can't talk smack about a good section of whistling in any song.

I think he put the bar up too high for himself by making a really good album and then all but disappearing for five years.

And they just keep coming, Lasers Lasers Birmingham (what's in a name) put out a new single. Solid tunes on both sides and it comes with a cute video.

I believe there's still some Trucker fans on here, do you like the newer albums anymore? I haven't really liked an album since English Oceans, American band had a couple tracks but it's whatever. I still regularly play all the other stuff though, been playing a lot of Cooley tracks, some of the best one liners.

Haven't really liked anything since Shonna left the band to be honest. If they toured around Richmond, I'd typically go however. One of my best memories is Mike and Patterson playing a auto body shop in Richmond for like 3 hours.

Ya gotcha, still a good chunk of music haha. That sounds like a damn good time, was that a specific tour or just a one off show?

DBT have a lot of ties in Richmond, mostly through Wes Freed who does their artwork I imagine. Anyways, it was a secret show thrown by friends of Mike and Patterson. I can't believe I even got in there to be honest. It was a trip, probably 150 people packed in a garage filled with antique cars in the middle of summer. Patterson is tight with an owner of a record shop in Richmond too, and he played behind their record shop once, which coincidentally shared a lot with my apartment building at the time, so I got to sit on my porch and watch him play for an hour or so, that was pretty fucking cool too.

My favorite Marty Robbins song, and a refreshing take. It’ll be stuck in my head for days ha, kudos mang. The way you sing and enunciate almost reminds me vaguely of Scandinavian folk
