How do folks feel about gangstabilly and Pizza Deliverance? Couple tracks but nothing too solid.

Man that Dean Johnson record is something else. Glad I saw it pass through some posters' socials.

McMurtry got real sassy in TN last week. His op ed in Rolling Stone was good. He’s a national treasure.

I think Pizza Deliverance is solid. It's not my favorite record of theirs by a longshot, but I like it. I am also a pervert and don't typically listen to their records until I get a physical copy of them, so I have not listened to Ganstabilly yet, but I recently bought a copy and am excited to check it out.

Can’t wait for the Margo Price/Kasey Waldon tour. I took that week off to burn some vacation I barely get to go to weekday shows.

I understand a lot of the criticisms of Weathervanes people calling it dad rock and such but it’s got more gems than duds. I’m an Isbell fan boy so I think when it’s good it’s brilliant. The fact that people are complaining about the heavy handed politics ruining it need to stfu, though. Or throw away all your Prine, Dylan, Cash, and Springsteen, etc albums.

Absolutely love the album. I don’t know what people were expecting from it, but it’s damn good. He’s been getting more and more vocal about his politics, and I’d rather a country artist be outright, instead of riding the fence trying not to piss off sects of fans

Any backlash on Isbell at this point, particularly this album, is funny. This is totally in his wheelhouse and a perfected version of what he’s been culminating to for the last decade. It’s nothing new for him, it’s just a done at such a high level, lyrically and sonically. It’s a masterful album, worthy of all its praise.

Finished Jeff Tweedy's bio a couple of weeks ago (which is an incredible read if you haven't checked it out already) and haven't listened to much else besides Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, and the first few Wilco records ever since. This story isn't in the book but it's fucking hilarious. Goddamn I wish they'd made more songs together.

Flying up to Seattle to see Dean Johnson and Izaak Opatz (who I'm also seeing here in LA). So stoked. That Johnson record is fucking perfect.

After sitting on the new 400 Unit long enough, I can say I really love it a lot. Only a couple songs I can do without.
King of Oklahoma is a damn song for sure. Love Strawberry Woman, Cast Iron Skillet, and If You Insist a ton, too.
Goddamn I love Jason Isbell so much. Never been another songwriter that I've heard that somehow seems like they're narrating so much shit I've experienced and lived through. To the point he can be tough to listen to at times. Just the best.

Love me some outlaw country. Especially Hank III and Robert Earl Keene. Got him to sign my record last time he was in Austin.
