Isbell is the best contemporary songwriter since Prine died. Amanda Shires is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, I had the pleasure of seeing her play to about 100 people and it was a great show.

I was lucky to see Willie at a Lockn festival in 2014 and almost cried he sounded that good. Tickets for country shows in Nashville have always been insane but now that everything is expensive, $80 for cheap seats felt like a steal for this.

Just saw Isbell for like the 6th time and Amanda Shires joined him even though she hasn't been on this tour much. Best show I've seen him put on, but it was also in a setting with amazing acoustics. Amythyst Kiah was great, too. The whole thing reminded me how much I hate amphitheater shows in the middle of summer.

Any of yall knowledgeable about banjos? Recently got one of our Craigslist equivalent and it needs to be cleaned and have the neck adjusted. I tried to find videos of a similar make but unsuccessful. It's from the late 80s.
I'll post pics if anyone's interested.

The guy opening for Willie Nelson here lists his influences as Nickelback, three doors down, creed and Alan Jackson. Probably pass, I saw him with Lyle Lovett and Robert Earle Keen didn’t get much better.

I honestly haven’t listened to a single Isbell or DBT song even though I saw DBT at the Ryman in like 2008 and have always said I would start listening to them

It's still wild to me that Isbell is more popular than DBT. I feel like his solo stuff is so tepid no matter how many times I try.
Also, the latest Turnpike Troubadours single is pretty lame, but the new song from Elijiah Ocean has me ready for some honky tonking

DBT rocks. I'm excited to hear the rerelease of The Dirty South. Favorite tracks with Isbell are Never Gonna Change and Goddamn Lonely Love.

I just saw that the Turnpike Troubadours did a Woody Guthrie project with the Dropkick Murphys and it's pretty bad. Still going to see them with the Avett Brothers this summer, DBT too. It's gonna be a good summer.

It really is fucking absurd that dbt had THREE songwriters who towered over just about everyone for awhile there. Really excited for the updated version of Dirty South as well. Patterson's vocals sound so much better on the recut version of Puttin People on the Moon.

Still gonna go because it might be the last time to see him

Tickets here dropped to $25 for the livenation promo so even with weak openers it might be worth it to catch him while you still can
