Issa Lopez was writing and directing some episodes for True Detective so I have high hopes. If ya'll fuck with mexican crime films check out her movie Tigers Are Not Afraid.

I'm in the middle of season 3 of a Fargo rewatch, and goddamn this show is so good. I didn't remember much of season 3, but it's been great and is weirdly darker than the previous 2 seasons.

I'm about halfway through the new season, I have loved all these seasons through and through. Crazy that this one has a Minnesotan Juno Temple

About to fire up the last episode of Deeadwood. I’m looking forward to watching the movie, but this is definitely bittersweet.

I can't even pick a favorite season of Fargo. It's so incredibly consistent. I haven't started 5 yet but I've heard great things so I'm looking forward to it.

I loved the latest season of Guilded Age, Carrie Coons is amazing. I have really enjoyed all the characters and their side stories that are developing.
Finished Ted Lasso, I enjoyed all three seasons despite 2 and 3 getting hate on here. Rupert was a great villian.
Started new The Sinner last night, takes place in Maine, getting some good Stephen King vibes with this coastal spooky mystery but some of the acting this time around is weaker. Ill keep pushing on.

The curse was something. Can’t remember the last time a show gave me that much anxiety. Still trying to unpack the ending.

first ep of true detective was frustrating. it feels like season 2 all over again with an intriguing seemingly paranormal thread. interested because of the seemingly paranormal aspect, but not interested in the characters at this point. but am hoping those are rust's parents

yeah I thought the TD ep was kind of bad. Characters were bland, writing was bad, they wen't way too hard too early on the supernatural stuff, and the music was annoying lol. Though the takes about "WOKE RUINED TRUE DETECTIVES" are suffocating. I regret even looking up a single thing about it. People saying Reis raped that duded. Fucking lmao people are dumb as shit.
The writing is just kind of hacky and it feels like a bland Netflix thriller rather than a weird noir pastiche. But hey it's got *old* Billie Eilish right??
I'll keep watching it though, John Hawkes is cool

i mean, i wouldn't want to be pressed down and forced to nut in someone who doesn't respect my 'don't use my toothbrush, it's gross' boundary. the writing is also hack as hell

I liked the first episode of the new TD. But I hope the cop with the cheek piercings grows on me. Seems like a robot. I’m really hoping the whole spiral design thing connects to season 1

I liked the first episode of the new TD. But I hope the cop with the cheek piercings grows on me. Seems like a robot. I’m really hoping the whole spiral design thing connects to season 1 I listened to an interview with Lopez and she said she was using symbols and the supernatural (Lovecraft) to connect the two since she feels the entire series plays upon the supernatural to explain the unexplained when most of the time a very real concrete solution is there. So I imagine with this season we will get a reveal but the otherworldly nature of some sequences could be up to interpretation.
I personally liked the premiere, it set the stage and introduced the town and it's inhabitants. It gives a sense of the community with the citizens being closely connected via drama, family, or work. All without having the audience follow along with a brand new person to the community which so many shows/movies rely on.
