It's really hard to go back to fake syrup after having the real thing. You also use way less of it.

I only like pancakes when I am make them. I hate diner/restaurant style pancakes that are too big and fluffy. those feel torturous to eat based on texture alone. it is like chewing on a pillow. at home I can make a lil thinner to my liking and I love adding vanilla extract to the mixture which some places don't do

i have a waffle maker that i've never used. i need to get on that. i tried to clean up my cast iron waffle iron that came with our house. apparently there was something weird on it because when i put it on the stove it smelled HORRIBLE.

making waffles at home never works well. Also, waffles are very meh to me anyway.
Not sure if this is common knowledge or not, but do NOT over mix that pancake batter.
