There's actually a thinkpiece on bachelor/bachelorette parties and how our inability to do basic things with friends like run errands together culminates into engineering these large life events as an excuse to be with your friends again, and the pressure to be there is likely to ruin the whole experience. getting old sucks! used to be able to just chill with me friends care free, no real obligations or 'reason' to hang out. but now like you said, everything has to be well thought out and planned and shoe horned into free time which increasingly comes at a premium |

The other side of this same coin, however, is that my circle of boys from back home and I have been in a group chat for like 10 years and are still as close as ever, even after 4 of us moved out of Oklahoma on a permanent basis.

blasted all of our steam on the thanksgiving talks lol I play the long game on thanksgiving. We host it for the family so all the hard work is done the day before. I eat edibles early and have a day full of sides/appetizers/laughing at my trump loving uncle. No tryptophan for this guy until left overs the next day. |

Just found out this couple we know that moved to New York a couple years ago are getting married on Halloween and have only invited their new friends and have barely told anyone back home about it
I don't know them as well as my wife and her family does, and her sister is making the trip, but they just told her like 2 days ago.
