Sometimes I have to join huddles first thing for on call coverage or issues. I'm still new enough here that I don't really know people outside my team, certainly not enough to care to engage with them.

Other than the group chat I'm in with work that notifies people of birthday and work anniversaries, I email my team with orders and status updates. Most of the people in the offices I work with are pretty cool so I dont mind talking to them

Same. My last lab did that to me and when they cut my hours, I asked to be moved to the lab or another location within reason. They wanted me to work at one almost an hour away for three months or be a courier. Luckily I was picked up by my current one a few weeks in and I scheduled a meeting with my manager to quit haha

Oh I didn't mean taken advantage of by management I meant by customers if you are too nice and go above your duties for them. It happens all the time. They will start to email or call you personally instead of putting in a god damn ticket like everyone else
