I just picked up Unmask Alice by Rick Emerson. Going to started after I finish I See You, Survivor by Liz Ianelli.
I'm looking for any books on the troubled juvenile industry/satanic panic/etc.., so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I started reading the memoir of one of those ex-Duggar kids and it’s some twisted shit. Their parents would yell “Nike!” every time a woman would walk by wearing shorts or a skirt or something and all the children would have to stop what they are doing and stare at their shoes until the harlot had passed
Its called Counting the Cost by Jill Duggar

found a first edition copy of this at the local used bookstore today. Someone had scribbled in the inside cover:
"To Maria, Christmas 1998. Good luck with this one!" lol

I just read a few serious books so I’m going to read The Colour of Magic by Terry Pritchett. I’ve heard he is very fun.

Just finished Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. It's making the rounds on booktok but I'm not sure how I feel about it. Kind of drags in the middle after a really engaging open. Story wise the ending made sense but he definitely could have fleshed it out a little more. 3/5

I'll be the first to tell anyone if a big book ain't worth it. This one is. Push through, read section summaries if you need to, and enjoy. Still think about this book all the time.

Finished Nick Cutter’s The Deep. Loved it. There’s a lot of influence there from The Thing, The Shining, Event Horizon, maybe a touch of Hellraiser and Solaris, but I still feel that it was original enough. Just a claustrophobic nightmare of a novel.

Finished Great Gatsby earlier this week and now I'm onto God Bless You, Mr Rosewater by Vonnegut. Even by his standards, it's a weird read so far, and I'm struggling to vibe with it but the homie Vonnegut rated it an A himself, so hoping it picks up.
