New Boldy James/Alchemist album is hard. It's so good I hope it's gonna get a physical release. I had a Boldy James sort of retrospective last friday, starting with Trappers Alley : Pros And Cons all the way up to The Price Of Tea In China, that dude is so talented. His style is never flashy or too technical, it's almost subtle, but if you pay attention it's so rewarding. The chemistry between him and Alchemist reminds with of when Alc was working with Prodigy.

Peggy coming through with some more fire. Dope. Dude had one of my favorite records from last year. 2020 has a lot to live up to.

So Conways verse on that Fire in the Booth spot really did solidify him as the hardest living MC in hip hop, we can all agree on this right?

New Royce album is goddamn awful. I listened to like the first 5-6 songs, or at least as much of them as I could take before skipping to the next, and that was about enough for me. Truly terrible beat selection and Royce couldn't have sounded less interested. Just all bad.

This is his first fully self produced album. You can tell at times but not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

Royce gave us Boom which is a perfect song, so I can always forgive him for whatever he’s currently doing

I hope you don't mind indulging me with a dummy question. I haven't listened to new hip hop in a while, but I've heard everyone raving about Griselda. What releases would you recommend checking out first?

What releases would you recommend checking out first? I'm still working my way through the label but I've been bumping this a bunch the last couple weeks. I'm a 38 year old white father of two in suburbia, I know nothing about moving weight or cooking crack in a kitchen, but damn if I ever start, Benny will be my Emril

I've been listening to WWCD on repeat the last two days, holy shit. I haven't felt this stoked about hip hop in years (and obviously haven't been paying much attention to hip hop, which is why I'm only checking Griselda out now). My only complaint is that the beats seem a bit understated to me. There's nothing wrong with them whatsoever, and they compliment the rapping 100%, but none of them jump out at me like "shit I want to listen to the instrumental of this" like so many classic Wu, Mobb, etc. beats do. Still a 10/10 album.
Will check those other ones out, thanks!

Hopefully he'll deliver a 45 minute set of classics and dip.
That's been my experience with seeing Cam shows. Short and sweet and hopefully no pay to play support on it.

Also, wasn’t he touring with Jada and Nore? Either way, props. Haven’t seen him in forever.

Yeah the first five songs (give or take) were from PH2, which I think is absolutely his best project since Killa Season.

the new Juelz has a couple songs on it that are great. sound like they could've been on a Dipset mixtape back in the day.

also liked this Vinnie Paz/God Fahim song
if you guys ever check out Mach Hommy or Fahim, you need to listen to the old stuff. I swear, these dudes used to be so good. Last few releases from each has been boring as hell to me, they're all like really slow and the production is not good.
Jacka - Murda Weapon is pretty great too. I guess it's the last stuff that Jacka was working on before he passed, it's just as good as any other Jacka albums (imo). Kinda weird when they put other artists verses on albums like this, guys that Jacka never actually worked with. But the album itself is really good, all things considered

Also saw Cam last week, he absolutely killed it. Great energy, played everything I (realistically) wanted to hear except the Purple Haze intro, couldn't have had a better time. I marked the hell out for Get 'Em Daddy.
