I like this song and a handful of others on the new record. Pop 2 still the best though

To pop music? sorry, i don't even know what i meant by that or why i said it. i guess my knee jerk reaction was that you and i seem to listen to a lot of the same stuff but i can't for the life of me understand what would attract someone to stuff like that.

Idk I find something to enjoy in literally every genre pretty much. I love pop music 100% as much as I like punk haha. Charli and some of her peers are my favorite artists right now.

Esther Rose - You Made it this Far: absolutely delightful folk/country. Name drops Minor Threat in a song. The song Sex and Magic is a particular stand out.
Sect - Blood of Beasts: CCβs contribution is great but this is the least interesting band heβs been in. I like entombed, I like hardcore bands that try to sound like Entombed but this isnβt doing it for me.
Portrayal of Guilt - Suffering is a Gift: would like this more if they didnβt do cornball grunts. Do people like that shit?
Soga - Demo 2018: great hardcore punk
Witch Vomit - Buried Deep: Good but really boring after a few songs
Hammered Hulls - S/T: really good post-hardcore of the Dischord variety.
Anxious - Never Better: Sounds like if Title Fight was more into Texas is the Reason.
Wildhoney - Naive Castle: New song is fine, the Kiss Me cover is π₯.
Jay Somm - Anak Ko: better than the last record, first few songs are real good then I zoned out.
Sheer Mag - A Distant Call: Real good, Better than the first LP not as good as the EPs.

Swans is one of my favorite bands ever, but nothing they've done since Soundtracks has really stuck with me.

The Charli album is vanilla version of her mixtapes which were already GOAT but it's got tracks For the most part, yeah. But "Next Level Charli", "Click", "Silver Cross", "Shake It", and "2099" are all fantastic and definitely stack up against anything on Pop 2 or Vroom Vroom. I made a version/playlist of the album that replaces "1999" with the easyFun remix and "Blame It On Your Love" with the Dylan Brady remix, and removed "White Mercedes", and the album is MUCH better for it.

The Seer and To Be Kind are two of the best records I've ever heard. The problem with the post reunion stuff (besides My Father) is that you have to be ready to commit two hours to each record, same could be said for Soundtracks though. The Seer is an absolute monster and depending on the day is my favorite release of thereβs. Give it a listen with good headphones and thereβs so much going on that you might miss just listening on normal speakers.

the new charli isnt my fav and i dont think anything she does will beat vroom vroom(unless she links up with sophie again) but its good. I agree with Radiation tho it is a pretty vanilla take on her mixtape songs. I really like click but can't stand tommy cash, cross you out is good too. I saw sophie over the weekend and it was cool she played some songs off Charli's new album, hope they get back together again on a side note fka twigs released a song with future and it is really good

Anybody into the new Cloud Rat? I've been digging Pollinator and Do Not Let Me Off the Cliff β especially since Chelsea Wolfe's new stuff isn't quite like the old stuff. (I like aspects of her new album, I just really loved her old stuff and need more stuff like that in my life).

Her latest stuff just feels like less exciting retreads of her earlier songs/mixes. PC Music's output in general has kinda gone down a fair bit since its peak years of 2013/14/15, but I'd still say A.G. Cook is a more interesting/dynamic producer at this point. The Charli mixtapes and the better songs on this album kinda reflect that for me. That said, I still anticipate everything all these people do with excitement, so I'm definitely not opposed to hearing more collaborations. And, speaking of, Hannah Diamond just dropped a new single today with Danny L Harle that is a kind of nice throwback to that '14/'15 PC style.
