the new charli isnt my fav and i dont think anything she does will beat vroom vroom(unless she links up with sophie again) but its good. I agree with Radiation tho it is a pretty vanilla take on her mixtape songs. I really like click but can't stand tommy cash, cross you out is good too. I saw sophie over the weekend and it was cool she played some songs off Charli's new album, hope they get back together again Though I absolutely adore Vroom Vroom, I actually kinda feel like Sophie has stagnated pretty hard musically. Her latest stuff just feels like less exciting retreads of her earlier songs/mixes. PC Music's output in general has kinda gone down a fair bit since its peak years of 2013/14/15, but I'd still say A.G. Cook is a more interesting/dynamic producer at this point. The Charli mixtapes and the better songs on this album kinda reflect that for me. That said, I still anticipate everything all these people do with excitement, so I'm definitely not opposed to hearing more collaborations.
And, speaking of, Hannah Diamond just dropped a new single today with Danny L Harle that is a kind of nice throwback to that '14/'15 PC style.
I actually liked sophies latest album, ag cooks production on charlis tracks are good to in their own way. backseat, track 10, and vroom vroom are my top 3 pc music/charli tracks. But yea i agree their output has been minimal since 2016 i wish sophie and ag would get back together to produce things but i think sophie would rather do her own stuff idk. I also wish sophie would release all the tracks she plays live, she has so many unreleased hits

Rly into this Alex g record This is one of my favourite records of the year so far. Fantastic stuff. I wasn't super crazy about the last one, liked a couple of the tracks. This one feels more complete.

Oh shit, I didn't know Alex G had a new one. Rocket was alright, but Beach Music was my 15 AOTY. Will check out.

Alex G's music is sweet no doubt, but I could never get into his stuff for an album's length.

New Alex G record is really really good. The electronic track is crazy.
As far as the Charli record goes, it's definitely not as out there as Pop 2 or whatever but that was never going to happen with the actual "album" itself. It was always going to be more refined. I don't really care for "1999" or "Blame It On Your Love" but the rest of it is pretty stellar.

Is it just like the songs on his tv shows? Those are kinda funny but I dunno if I want to listen to a full album of that.

New batch, getting close to caught up:
Salami Rose Joe Louis - Zdenka 2080: alright but kinda boring
Bull of Apis Bull of Bronze - Offerings of Flesh and Gold: alright but kinda boring
Point of Contact - Commitment: great hard as hell straight edge stuff
Result of Choice - Place of my Dreams: This is awesome, the name sounds like something a Euro hardcore band name generator would think of. Only turn off is that this is a punk band with lyrics about respecting your elders.
Eyes of the Lord - Misery Fees Like Home: love this! Sounds like Merauder to me.
Shin Guard - 2020: It’s ok, definitely thinks it’s way more clever than it actually is.
SFJAZZ Collective - Music of Antonio Carlos Jobim: Live album, real good and all I can think of is Eric what’s his face saying “me encanta Latin Jazz” when I listened to it.

Haven’t checked them out but:
Chastity Belt Vivian Girls Indian Summer reissue thing
I got high hopes for Chastity Belt since everything they’ve done is great. I’m curious about Vivian Girls though I only really revisit the self titled record.

listening to the new lotion LP again and I just really don't like how noisy it is. It's like juuuust barely too noisy. Like the first LP was peeerrrrfect in terms of hearing everything well, but now the sounds and shit totally override the vocals and it kinda sounds weirrd. I get it, I just prefer the mixing on the first LP -- even the declassified 2018 demo I thought was mixed so well on Programmed to Kill.
