Flew up to SF this past weekend for the Black Heart Tattoo 20 year anniversary party and Unbroken at Gilman. Checked out the all vegan gas station near SFO, stuffed myself with coffee and treats from Timeless, and got brunch at Wild Seed would highly recommend all those places.

lions mane is also fantastic! it’s a bit more expensive but those also smash and cook beautiful. i’m fully obsessed with mushrooms these days (typing this while wearing one of my mushrooms shirts from a national park) yeah it's definitely a splurge - whenever i see them in a grocery store the price is insulting, but luckily i have a local community farm that hooks me up also got some fresh-picked hen of the woods recently that was fun in a pasta dish |

i've been shredding king oyster mushrooms lately and it's good as hell. ate a whole lb of them last time. these rock too, there's a local chain here that has crazy deals on overstock produce and sometimes sells them for like a dollar a piece |

have not but the meati ones are great and a 2 pack is generally $10-12 honestly what’s really been scratching the streak itch are pressed portobellos in the cast iron. we have one of those metal burger press things and it’s great with those. just smashin em in the cast iron and pressing down pretty hard on em turns them into (basically) steak. super tasty, pretty cheap and the texture is great. it also seems impossible to overlook them. they’ve never been dry I like the meati steaks and loooove mushrooms |

I've been laying off most of the processed stuff outside of the Morningstar Garden Vegetable/Dr. Pragers California burgers and the Morningstar breakfast sausage patties.
They sell em all at BJ's which has been convenient, cheap but also the burger patties are larger than most retail packs.
