EDIT: Had no idea Dolemite Is My Name is a Netflix movie. I'll still probably watch in a theater if its as funny as everyone says.

I watched Raging Bull last night by myself for no reason because I am uncultured and hadn't seen it and I must say that it was the best Robert De Niro performance I've ever seen O_O

no way. LoS rules too. I know I'm a RZ fan through and through, but LoS is an I.talian horror film and the same logic you watch a Fulci film thru you have to bring to this one also. And some Ken Russell images thrown in. Its easily his most ambitious, and where he tried to stray from his usual dirty psychos movies. Lords is his best movie, I stand by that. It's not a pure exploitation movie like everything else he's done, there is some depth. In Halloween II Michael kills some kid to Time to Die by Void so that's pretty cool.

Definitely out of all his films I've seen Lords is the best. I love that fucking movie. Being his most surreal and more of an actual film than any of his other attempts.

The Lighthouse is pure insanity. Loved every frame. It’s ridiculous filmmaking. Eggers is a filmmaker you can tell loves every second of the process and you get lost in his camera but it’s never pretentious.

Parasite / The Lighthouse double feature today 😥😥😰😰 I was thinking of doing that but I think it'd be too much for me. So I'm at least going to take a couple days in between. Make sure to post your thoughts of them on letterboxd B)

Everybody should watch Society (1989) without knowing anything about it.Its by far the most disturbing thing I have ever seen and I love it.These days it takes a lot to scare me but I'm still shaking. It's a perfect build up of suspension.

Watched Monsters last night. First time i saw it i thought some of the plot didn't work well, especially the relationship between the 2 leads. But after repeated viewings i think everything works well. The effects are second to none, and the monster design (basically a giant walking octopus) is great, but i love movies about giant octopus/squid attacking boats etc. Though there aren't many i can think of aside from It Came From Beneath the Sea, Warlords of Atlantic and 20,000 Leagues.

Who's the guy in here who likes American Psycho 2 ironically? Because I just watched it and it is very entertaining in an ironic sense.I also have me a man crush on William Shatner. Now more in his old age he's like a sexy teddy bear.

*TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE
As far as horror anthologies go, it is always up & down. However here when Debbie Harry says "you really did save the best for the last" in the wrap-around, she's speaking 100% truth. The last segment, "Lover's Vow" is the reason to watch this, even thought the only really bad minutes spent with this is the middle segment. I've never cared when Stephen King goes animal horror.
Lover's Vow is a 5/5 segment for me. A tragic tale told best really by the 1990 velvety cinematography that drips from the screen. This waxy look always give the eerie feels and doubled with the gross out creature design, it feels like movie magic no less special than when audiences were transfixed on man turning into a wolf 50 years prior.
Lot 249 is pretty good because of the cast. This is the only one that feels like a Creepshow outtake, and that is said as a positive of course. Its just one of those fun ones.
*WARLOCK
He’s not going to kill this...oh...yep. He did. Wait he’s eating what? Welp. Fish out of water stories where the new land is Los Angeles are fun. Richard E. Grant is fantastic. I mean this probably gave us Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time...so, neat.
*THE BLOB (‘88)
What’s it like to see sets and towns destroyed and blown up and sparks and fire and real action. Don’t even worry about the best practical effects ever right there with The Thing. Everything here is just at its best. Nothing is lazy. It’s movie making in its purest most kick ass form. Chuck Russell rules.
*I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE
It is insane how much plot can fit in to a film barley over an hour and still not only work but be great. Jacques Tourneur, ladies and gentlemen.

I wanted to like the Blob remake so much, I was a huge fan of the original when I was a kid. For a movie like this to work you have to care about the "hero". I couldn't stand Kevin Dillan's character, the proto- typical bad boy with a mullet, leather jacket and motorcycle. So I was rooting for the Blob.
The practical effects were good, but I wouldn't put them in the same league as The Thing.

Danzig's directorial debut is inept in every way from a technical standpoint, but I had a blast laughing at practically all of it.
